Hi!

I can eat most things but not a large quantity.

I'm eating a lot of fish, sellfish

Crackers with cheese and sliced deli meats

Salads

chicken

Oats

fruit

All vegetables (but staying away from potatoes and corn)

I still can't eat bread, Pasta, rice, beef or pork. They really don't sit well and make me feel unwell.

Hello I'm six months out and I can eat basically everything, but not a large quantity, a we know the surgery prevents. (yeah sleeve!) Personally I don't eat pork or shellfish (scavengers of the sea). The surgery is the best thing I could've eve done in my life. I can eat what I want. I am now having a problem with remembering to eat. I love it. Welcome aboard.

I'm 4 weeks post op and for Breakfast I either eat an over hard egg and 1 morning star veggie sausage or kashi Cereal with fat free skim milk....lunch is usually baby scallops or some type of fish or a morning star chicken patty (no room for sides) and dinner is pretty much the same as lunch....snacks I have the premier whole grain sea salt round crackers and put a little Peanut Butter on 3 crackers or a string cheese...if I have a good Protein day I usually treat myself to a little bit of sugar free ice cream....or a pickle

I am nearly 8 weeks. Surgery on August 7th. I can eat most things that I am allowed to but only about 1/4 cup all up, so I rarely get to vegetables. Also I am having a problem getting fluids down. Favourites are curried smashed eggs on a cruskit. I can nearly eat the whole thing. Sashimi dipped in soy sauce with wasabi mixed in.

I have made the Emily bites lasagne cups, the Eggface breakfast bites and the Eggface Mexican Turkey bites. All very nice but end up with too many of them.

I am so over the Protein Drinks, also supposed to be getting my Protein from food! I have made protein smoothies but can't have the recipe right because I just don't like them!

The Multivitamin tablets make me nauseous at best and throw up at worst so have gone to the chewy ones which are ok if I don't smell them.

Have never yet managed to get in more than 500 cals per day.

I eat chicken, grilled fish, refried fat free Beans (ole el paso are the best), eggs, toast, love stir fry, broccoli and cheese Soup, and just about anything I want but only a small portion! Been doing this since about 3 wks post-op! No beef or pork! Don't sit well at all! Spinach is good and tuna salad is really good! As long as my veggies are not crispy I can eat them! Steamed veggies don't sit well! I would like to know if everybody exercises lots and what kind of exercises? I have a bad back so I am limited!

I'm walking a lot. And every other day I do strengthening exercises. Ie sit ups push ups arm work out (fearing saggy arms)

Wow! I am three weeks post op and as far as food goes I can barely eat anything (it is just too much) today I had 1 scrambled egg 1/3 cup of puréed leek and potato soup( no cream). Thats it. I drink 2 Protein shakes with almond milk and usually staying up a little longer than I would like to have the last shake. The scale hasn't moved in a week ( which is unbelievably frustrating) I get my Protein and Water and usually hit between650 and 700 calories, I have no idea if this is normal but there it is.

Rei, try swimming. I am starting Water aerobics because it is easy on joints. Once some more pounds come off I'll be off to the workout out room at the Y. If that doesn't work do chair exercises ( just get a video) they have chair classes at my YMCA. Best of luck!

With what I am eating I never reach 600 calories....I'm at about 450 max.....I unfortunately can't tolerate any type of Protein shakes at all....I do what I can to get my fluids in but don't always quite make it.....I have lost 25 lbs since surgery

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
