I know how you feel Laura-ven I got a road bike last weekend but threw my back out before I could ride it ( other than a test ride ) so I can only stare at it. I go back Monday to see if I can be released to ride again....can't wait :D

New bikes are exciting. Get a good pair of riding shorts to go along with your new ride

I keep adding things to my bike. Next year I plan on getting custom wheels.

Hey folks. Did my fastest ever 10k this morning... 63 minutes. Plus I ran an additional 2.5 miles back and forth to the car.... That's how far away I had to park.

So day 23 is 8.7 miles.... Which is 102 total. Thrilled to have made my goal with a week to keep adding to it.

Thanks to all of y'all that joined in and inspired me. Keep pushing. We are all gonna make it.

Great job! Love the photo the medal, everything.

I'm starting a new weight-lifting class next week ...2x a week 1 hour each session, called "women and weights" and my plan is to go directly from WAW (from 10am-11am) to spin (11am-12noon) Anyway, that is the plan but we shall see, my cardio might suffer by me doing more weights (noooooooo! ==clings to cardio==)

Anyway, great job BTB for not only reaching your goal but obviously you are going to surpass it. YAY!

Another 5 on the elliptical last night, just finished 5 on the track this morning. I'll do another 5 tonight on the elliptical, so that'll put me at 69 miles, with 31 to go.

You guys are doing great today. I'm a little sore from all that bridge climbing h yesterday but I woke up to clear skies and what feels like the first break from summer heat we've had all year... So I couldn't pass up the opportunity for a trail run with the dogs. We did 5.5 easy miles for a total of 107.5.

What could she possibly criticize you for?!? But if she does, maybe you can get in a few miles by running away from HER!

That is really great to get into the strength training next week. I known once you start seeing the many benefits from lifting from lost inches to improved endurance / stamina / power (your spin will get easier) to improved bone density to improved weight management (easier to eat more or just some treats without being punished), you will love it. Trust me on that one. I was a non believer in weight training until earlier this year and loved my cardio. Now the tables have turned, but I still manage to do the cardio, just in a more intense manner. Let us know what you think about the lifting after the first week. I am sure you will feel it. <evil grin> cheers! :)

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
