I had this crazy craving for olives (I think my body was telling me I needed sodium) the first few weeks after my surgery, I waited until I was on a full diet at week 4 before trying them, but I had no problems eating them.

It is an odd thing for me, I never liked pickles. Never. Then post sleeve I crave them sometimes. I didn't eat them until after about eight weeks but now I always have them in the fridge for when the pickle mood hits!

ETA someone did tell me that a craving for pickles/salty things was connected to a need for potassium what is your potassium intake like?

Funny I came across this tonight! I was at the grocery store and craving pickles! I also think I'm low on potassium and I don't add salt to anything, so I think I'm okay sodium wise! Funny how you start wanting things you didn't eat much of before and how you avoid the things you used to love. bread is my main thing. I used to love ANY kind of bread. I stay way away from it now.

You can always have a sip of the juice.

I did this the other day. I worried that the vinegar would upset my tummy, but I took little sips and it was fabulous to have something sour and salty. Didn't have more than an ounce or so.

I'm about 6 weeks out and after a work out I was craving something salty, I had the Kosher pickle halves, I peeled the skin off and ate the pickle. I know I can soon start introducing fruits but the doctor wants them peeled first, so I peeled mine just saying :) also had a sip or two of the juice !! It's good for not getting muscle cramps!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
