I thought I would get better answers if I post in the food & Nutrition forums.

Why would u think that?

There's a bunch of us here who's doctors told them that with their new sleeve they have to prioritize what they eat. Always Protein first, veggies second, fruit if there's any room, then carbs if there's any room after that.

Did your surgeon not tell you this?

Why would u think that?

Why would anyone who has just taken their life into their hands gone under the knife and had WLS eat ramen noodles raw or cooked? I mean if your really taking the surgery and lifestyle changes seriously. The rule no rice, no Pasta, no bread, Low carbs or at least healthy carbs while in wgt loss phase. Didnt you get that in your instructions for weight loss. I know it's stated in mine several places. So I thought surely it's a joke. But I guess not....to each there own. But be careful.

More options for what? This is the second post you made saying you ate raw ramen. I feel like you want more validation for your choice to eat this. You're not going to get that here....

Everyone doesn't have to be so mean or sarcastic to the op. If her profile is correct, she's 19 years old.... I know I didn't know everything at 19, and I think it's brave of her to post her questions on here. In posting again in food and Nutrition, she was following the advice of a veteran poster on her last thread.

In any case, rmma1000: The main thing you need to realize is that by eating ramen, you are not only hurting your chances at weight loss, but you could possibly do damage to your sleeve as well. Definitely not something you want to risk. If you didn't get specific post-op diet instructions from your surgeon, then you can certainly search these forums for good information. As the others have said, Protein first, then veggies as you can fit them in. Check out some of the recipe forums for ideas, and be careful!

Uncooked ??? Are you kidding me? Is it the crunchiness you're craving? I just can't even imagine. I'm only 5 days out, but I don't care if I ever eat anything again... I know, that's going to pass, but my instructions are clear. Protein and Produce.

When I read about people eating uncooked ramen all I could think of is what happens to birds when they eat uncooked rice!! Definitely not a good outcome!!!

Well, I think the first thing you need to do is ask yourself, why did you have the surgery?

Did the doctor have you go through any classes or counseling?

Are you eating other things besides ramen noodles?

Do you have a diet plan? That has detailed lists of what you can and can't have? If you do not I can email you several. All of them say do not eat these kinds of foods. I honestly think its more about you crying out for help. Hun, have you had any counseling? I think you are looking for the old comfort foods to make you feel better. PM me and I can send you those plans if you want. I think you need to seek professional advice though. Counseling. You need to talk to someone.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
