I feel ya!!! It will be 4 weeks tomorrow since day of surgery I've only lost 23 lbs!!! I was hopeful I would loose faster since the Dr had told me the more you have to loose the faster you would loose (I need to loose 150 plus) unfortunately that isn't happening bc I lost the 23 lbs the first 2 1/2 weeks and I've not lost anymore since!!! I'm extremely worried that I'm going to be the one that don't loose or something! The thing I really do not understand is the fact that I can barely eat 2-2 1/2 oz at a meal' date=' why would I not loose weight when I barely eat!! I DO NOT cheat ever!! Soups that are super low to zero carbs, egg whites, muscle milk light.. I can't even drink but around 3 oz at a time of the muscle milk or water! I am more worried than anything!!!!

I hope I start loosing again soon![/quote']

you have to get in all those Proteins and with that comes some calories... don't short yourself or u will stay stalled

I had my sleeve and hiatal hernia repair on July 22' date=' 2013. I feel great, other than not being able to go to the bathroom...fiber has become my friend! That's the one frustrating part. I love the fact that I am not hungry at all, I never thought I would have to remind myself to eat! Who knew!! I'm getting ready to try soft solids and am nervous as all get out. Any suggestions? <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />[/quote']

pudding, scrambled eggs w/cheese, refried Beans, mashed potatoes.... for me... I noticed bread products bring so much pressure I don't even enjoy it, meat I haven't tried so much or anything that has to be chewed a lot......CHEW SLOW its key.... enjoy!!!!!

That is about all I can eat/drink or I start regurgitating everything... I'm not sure how or what to do?? I know I need the Protein and I realize there will be calories but I'm not even hitting near 800 calories a day but I can't because if I do happen to take in 3 to 3 1/2 ozs of something I will start regurgitating it.. I feel helpless! I am going to email the dr and see if he can give me some advice, he's been excellent so far at answering questions and keeping in touch!

I'm 36 and I'm actually glad I didn't do it (at least much) sooner. I looked into wls about 8 years ago and got scared off (RNY was my only option at the time). The big difference for me was that in the last 4 years, I've made some very big life changes for the better. I've picked up triathlon as a hobby (apparently I don't do things 1/2 way...), I've finally managed to find doctors that are helping me address my sleep issues so I can be healthier and have more energy, and I've finally managed to find the "right" antidepressant (although, it's already seeming like the sleep/energy issue was more of a problem than I thought, and I may not even truly have depression). I believe that if I had gone through with surgery in my late 20's, I would not have been nearly as successful as I expect, plan, and will work to be now. I think that there are a lot of things surrounding when and how we make life changing decisions. Don't give yourself a hard time for not doing this sooner. You probably just hadn't hit the point where you were truly ready. Congratulations on your hard work and best of luck on future health and happiness!

Just a friendly and supportive reality check: That's 20 pounds in about 31 days. If I knew what your starting weight was, I could probably give you a fair guesstimate of your daily calorie deficit, but I'll use myself as an example. I was sleeved on Jul23. I'm only down about 10 pounds. Starting weight was 278. So, on an average low activity day, I burn about 2500-2600 calories. I"m consuming about 900 calories, so that's a deficit of about 1700 cal/day or about 1/2 a pound/day or about 3.5 pounds/week. If your daily deficit is similar, barring lots of other things that can either interfere or boost your loss, you can probably expect on average about a 3-4 pound loss/week that will slowly diminish over time as your daily caloric burn comes down as you lose weight and gets closer to your daily consumption. Plus you have to factor in "stalls" or pauses in weight loss. Most people experience periods where the scale seems to either sit at the same number or bounce around the same number for days or weeks. Don't be too hard on yourself, you're body is doing what it's supposed to.

Good luck!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
