Suzy,

LOL :) I found that as I got heavier and heavier, I started to sprout weird black 'goat hairs' not only on my chin, but on my cheeks, on my double chin, on my upper lip...I am pretty sure my testosterone levels were way out of whack due to my weight. I had my face waxed a few times, BTW, I DO NOT recommend this it hurt like a SOB and my face was beet red (I have very fair and sensitive skin) for at least a day afterward. I finally purchased a NO-NO hair remover thing, it's awesome BTW, and have definitely noticed that as I lose more and more I need to use it less and less, so I think that dependent on factors such as age (pre or post menapausal) etc you should stop growing 'goat hairs' from your chin as your hormones naturally regulate themselves. In the mean time, I suggest the NO-NO, it's is awesome and really works.

Lol I don't know about the chin hairs but don't think it's a definite that you will lose a lot of hair. I am at 4 mos and 1 week and showing no sign of any hair falling out. In fact it grows faster than usual now. Take your supplements and hope for the best!

PCOS could be the cause of the chin hair ladies.

No, but they are easier to find with only one chinny-chin-chin for them to hide on. Once you pass a certain age, I strongly recommend a magnifying mirror and a good pair of tweezers.

Try laser - a m a z i n g. The proper stuff, not ipl or elp or whatever it's called. It's cheap here (well chins and underarms are) and laser hair removal salons are everywhere. It's not a full cure all but has a dramatic effect on making hairs finer and fewer.

But do it before you get too old - I'm postmenopausal and now some of those black goat hairs have turned white and laser no longer works on them!

Plucking makes them thick and my skin now gets quite damaged when they regrow. And boy do they itch when they are just under the skin. Electrolysis is not bad but you have to get a really good operator as many just make the problem worse.

If you are young I'd get checked out for PCOS as per an earlier poster's suggestion.

Good luck with this. If you find a good "cure" please shout from the rooftops, as many of us need to know.

The NoNo works on white hairs too. Although my mom did burn herself a few times, as she has looser skin on her face, and the skin got caught on the wire. If you have looser skin you have to hold it taunt before using the device. I believe they have a money back guarantee promotion. It's an expensive device, but as I said, it works for me.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
