took about 4 wks for me. overall I was okay after the first week, but I couldn't sleep on my side until about 4 wks so I never felt fully rested after sleeping at night. Getting comfy in bed again was the turning point for me!

It was about 2 weeks for me. Once my surgeon removed the steri strips over my wounds (ugh, they smelled HORRIBLE) and I got the nausea under control, I was able to function like a normal human being. :)

(Oddly, the day after my surgery, I thought I felt like myself. I was dancing around my room, walking up and down the halls every couple of hours, and enjoyed sipping my diluted apple juice. It must've been the drugs, because by that evening I felt like I was hit by a truck.)

About 3 weeks for me. No pain after 3 days, no nausea, mostly just fatigue and getting the liquid and Protein in!

I was sleeved on the 6/18 and I feel about 60% my normal. I find that my energy level is down which is probably normal due to the decrease in calories. I was suppose to return to work next week but I have decided to take off one more week.

Approx 10 days for me. Had taken 2 weeks off work and had no problems.

Today I forget I even went through major surgery except for the obvious changes :)

Although I returned to work on post-op Day 10, my energy was still markedly lower. It wasn't until I was 2 weeks out and finally able to transition to "smooshy" foods that I felt human again - something about using a spoon to eat my foods, coupled with the renewed energy and using my brain at work again seemed to help! I spent 2 days house hunting on Days 15 and 16 post-op in a neighboring state - all good!

I think it took a month before I didn't have a constant reminder of some sort that I had been sleeved. Now I don't think about it unless I'm eating.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
