More than 6oz per hour?

Recommended Posts

I am post op day 4 and am wondering if I can take in more than 6 oz an hour? I am getting everything easily and my instructions say at least 64 oz liquid. Do you vets think it is ok to drink as tolerated?

My doc's instructions was 1.3 - 3 oz/ hour for the first week. And honestly, that's all I could get in. But everyone is different.

Absolutely. I mentioned to my doctor at my follow up appointment on Day 6 post-op that I had consumed 24oz of Water on my way to his office from my home (roughly 1 hour drive time) - he didn't bat an eye and congratulated me on a speedy recovery!

I would say to drink every ounce that you can--being fully hydrated is so important!

Artymama by day 5 I was getting in at least 70 oz of Fluid .. I was worried also so I called my surgeon and she told me it was fine that I needed to keep hydrated and that was just a way of showing me that my stomach was healing fast and well !

:)

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
