I stayed two nights. Normal stay is one night, but my surgery was late in the day, finished at 5pm, so they kept me the extra night just to be sure. I went home at noon after the 2nd night.

I've gotten sleeved on the 6/12 and plans were I would go home as of Friday' date=' but they are keeping me till tomorrow- hopefully I can go home tomorrow.. I've been having pain mostly where my drain is. And I had a bad cause of nausea I'm still only on 60mL of Clear Liquids :(

I'm wandering how many of you have had such elongated stays? My nurses won't say much as far as what is normal, just that it is different from person to person.[/quote']

I was sleeved on the 12 (wednesday) as well....I was home Thursday night

How did your swallow test go?? That maybe why they kept you

I was sleeved around 5pm on Friday 5/24 and left the hospital by 5pm on Saturday 5/25. No complications or pain. Never did take any pain medication in the hospital or at home and did take nausea medication right before I left to go home just in case for the car ride....

I was sleeved may 21 in Sweden. I stayed 2 nights at the clinic. Day one post op I felt discomfort but no pain. I have had nothing but smooth sailing this past month. I have more energy, my mood is much better as I know I am on a great journey to health and wellbeing. I horsebackride almost everyday and I am enjoying life. i am so happy I found this surgery. Here in Sweden only gastric bypass is done by hospitals so I went to a private clinic and paid out of pocket. Best money ever spent. I have lost 15 lbs which is more than I have ever lost in that short period of time before.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
