I keep reading about people who have a heard time eating eggs. I love eggs and have access to farm fresh, free-range chicken, duck, guinea, and quail eggs. I would be soooo sad if I had to give up the beautiful hen fruit.

Does anyone know WHY eggs seem to be hard on the digestive tract? Are eggs a problem just in the beginning or long-term as well?

I have never left eggs entirely. Egg drop Soup in early stages, eggs in many forms since. They've never bothered me, the Protein is great, and the taste twangs my buds.

I am addicted to egg beaters. They have a new 3 cheese which is so good. I also used egg whites in the beginning and made egg salad with low fat mayo. So good.

I had a problem with eggs as soon as I got to soft foods, at about 6 weeks. It was the only food that I have ever had a problem with. Fast forward to 6 months and I have no problem with them at all. I asked my stalker-nutritionist about it, and all she could come up with was that possibly the amount of Iron in the eggs may not have agreed with the smaller stomach. It was a guess on her part, but she did say that she had heard about eggs from several of her gastric patients. All you can really do it try them and see. Some folks it may not be an issue. I had 1 whole and 1 egg white this am for Breakfast after my workout. I'm fine.

I'd obviously ask my doc first, but does egg drop soup count as full liquids or mushy food since it has the egg in it? That's one of my favorite soups!

I'm fortunate. I tried eggs for the first time yesterday and it sat well. Maybe it depends how it's cooked. Mine was over medium. Also tried it poached.

I tried egg for the first time yesterday. It was delicious until 5 minutes later when I threw it up. Haha

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
