Like everyone else has said, the hunger does come back. Usually the week before my period I'm very hungry but I tend to be hungry a lot. I can usually ignore it but I noticed that if I drink a large glass of Water it usually goes away. I was sleeved 7 months ago and I crave Protein. My husband baked Cookies for Breakfast and they didn't even seem appealing because I wanted something that was filling. OP it seems like your body has found a weight that it wants to stay at.

I am having similar issues. I am 5 1/2 months out and have been stalled or gaining/losing for a few weeks now. I am going to try just doing Protein for a week or so to see if I can get a jump start and find a way to beat the head hunger and physical hunger that I let win everyday!! I would love some meal suggestions for good Proteins in hopes of keeping it good and not boring so im not tempted to reach for the bad foods!!! Thanks!!!

I'm five months out and no hunger ...yet. How do you know if it's actual hunger or head hunger returning?

My stomach feels empty and starts making feed me now commands lol but really it is an actual feeling in my stomach when I haven't eaten in few hours . I imagine if you went 5-6 hours not eating during your awake time you may feel what I am talking about .

I'm almost 5 months out and i'm definitely hungry. I find myself craving carbs and sugar so i figured maybe its that time of the month. I try and drink Water when i have this feeling. because when i get hungry ill try and eat something and my eyes are bigger than my stomach and i end up wasting most of it.

I think it is different for everyone. I am almost a year out and I rarely experience hunger. What I now call hunger is not what I remember hunger to be. Now it will be when I find myself light headed, or feeling a bit nauseous and I remember "oh yes, I must eat". What I do know though is when I sit down to food, I can not eat much at all. So even with hunger I think the sleeve is such an amazing tool. But it does come back to the choices we make. Our success is in our control, not the sleeves.

This is how I feel.

I just had a nutrition meeting-the NUT said in about 12 month the stomach starts talking to the brain and will bring old hunger back but you have to stay on your plan? Sounded like head hunger would really kick in again.

Remember your all on a constant with dieting,

My every so often hunger pangs come late nights after the days in which I have actually lost weight and did something in dieting that affected me, yes, for sure I get that hungry but for me it's a thing that comes and goes, I am also 5 months out, I have a significant good loss as result of surgery and I now very much notice too when my stomach is getting full which now helps me adjust as well, so not only do I need try following up by being good when I feel the hunger also I know when to quit at the same time as much during those times.

Oh those carbs, once you get started they lead you on.

That is why sucess rate is 50 to 60 % excess lost in the long run. You need to love the honeymoon first 6 months and then the work begins.

ya can't scare me 56, lol,

I see that already, I've my hopes I won't be a slob again, the start helps allot I'd think in management training as was before but better with the small stomach.

Hunger has come back. Only 2 years out of surgery. I find myself eating a little too much. May be caused by the mental facet of this process. I did get down to 210 but find myself back up to 227; give or take 5lbs. My goal weight was 227 but liked being down to 210. I am growing nervous about going down the wrong path. I am not much of a person that likes to get out and walk for exercise. What are my options?

I'm only 8 weeks post op and my hunger is back and has been for about a month. Actual real hunger pangs, not head hunger. I am pretty disappointed about it, but luckily, it's so easy to satisfy with a small amount of food. I had really hoped to lose my hunger for a long time after surgery. I just worry that when I get to the point that my stomach can hold more I will start eating too much again. I'm determined to never let that happen though!

I was sleeved September 12, 2012 and the first couple of months I had to remind myself to eat. I never had hunger pains except for some rare head hunger if I saw others with food. I notice now that I'm hungry all the time and I can eat a full plate of food. I haven't lost any weight since last December and I know it's because of my eating habits. When our sleeve was done, I was under the assumption that they removed the portion responsible for producing ghrelin, so why is it that I'm always hungry? Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes! Me! Haha I’m hungry all the time and I’m 4 years out! I find some days are worse then others but yeah pretty much hunger levels have returned to what they were...

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
