This is temporary' date=' I promise! I had my surgery on the 10th and the first week was ROUGH but I feel a whole lot better now. I actually coded in the hospital, and I was back to work (I'm a nurse) the Tuesday after surgery. I know you don't feel like it now, but PLEASE make sure you keep up your protien. If you don't get your 60 grams, you'll feel like a truck hit you, backed over you and hit again for good measure, I felt so crappy right when I got home I didn't hardly eat anything and I could hardly get off the couch to go to the bathroom and laid on the couch and cried for three days. The fatigue was debilitating. I called a friend who had this ten years ago and she said I needed protien, and she was absolutely right. Also, set your clock for every four hours for your painkillers-DO NOT WAIT or the pain will get out of control and very difficult to control. Keep your head up, it does get easier every day. And weigh yourself-it'll remind and encourage you![/quote']

Shelly,

I am a nurse in surgery and was wondering how it was when you went back to work. My biggest fear is that I won't be able to drink something every 10 minutes. How was it for you??

Beth...it was rough but doable. Make absolutely certain you get your protien in or the fatigue will be unbearable. I can't always get to my Water every ten minutes but I take sips every single chance I get. Keep a cup in the medroom, breakroom, nurses station etc. Sit and chart when you can and confide in a few co-workers. Mine totally stepped up and supported me. Also, i take my prenatal in the morning and at night and I take two gummy vitamins at night. Since I started that my endurance increased. Feel free to pm me! Good luck. You can do it!

I was sleeved on 4/23 too and it still feels surreal. I'm with you all- that first day was terrible. I woke up thinking "i have made a huge mistake!" i figured i could handle it with no problems after 3 csections- but those gas pains are no joke. It is getting better each day. I was sent home on Thursday and today my mind feels clear for the time since surgery if that makes any sense. I am still finding it uncomfortable

to swallow anything. Today I have managed to drink 1 ensure clear and a bit of Water. I was told 1 week of clear fluids too. Hoping it goes by easily and quickly!

I had my surgery Monday. I haven't had any gas or pain. Haven't had to take any pain meds since I got home on Wednesday . Hot showers and walking is the key

I had mine done on the 17th and I felt the exact same way. I just started my full liquid diet today and Its rather difficult. The clear liquid diet was hard but starting the full liquid diet let me see a shimmer of light!! Im not a big Soup eater so I have a hard time finding things that are ok to eat. Good Luck!!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
