This gives me hope. I feel like I'm breaking up with a boyfriend right now! LOL! My emotions are pretty high-strung. I had to the surgery on 7/17 and have dropped 10 pounds. I'm having difficulties getting my Water and Protein numbers in...but I'm always close. I'm really living off of Isopure and Water. There are so many Vitamins to take!!! Will the day ever come where we can take Vitamins in pill format? Ugh...I sick of chewables. I'm having some trouble with burping. I feel like I have to burp after every sip I take. Please oh please tell me this goes away! I work in an office with cubicles and I'm terrified my coworkers will think I'm a burping banchee!!!

You will make it thru this time! I know it doesn't seem like it right now but things get so much better the further out from surgery you get. I'm just over 6 months out and I eat pretty much anything only much smaller portions. For me it's all about making better food choices. That combined with the amount you can eat and exercise it works. And yes, you should be able to take pill form soon! Ask your doctor. Mine said after 4 weeks and I was so happy, for me the Iron tablets were the worst! They tasted like I just sucked on a handful of pennies! :P The burping gets better too! Congrats on your sleeve and best of luck to you!

At my 3 week check up my Dr said I can take tablets that are smaller than the size of a pencil tip eraser....so I can take my Iron tabs and my synthroid (broken in half).

My biggest regret is the lack of energy. I have orthostatic hypotension (dizzy when I stand up fast) due to low blood pressure. I find that I'm having it way more often. And yes' date=' I drink all my Water and get my food in. As far as eating is concerned it's a bit wasteful to eat out at times. I would LOVE to have leftovers the next day, but some things just don't keep. I find that a "side" of something holds me over. I also kind of miss the length of the meal. Does that make sense? Umm..I'm done eating in 7 minutes and have to wait for everyone else to finish. It's weird, I know, but it kind of changes the experience.[/quote']

I feel the same way... I am 10 months post op!!!!

I'm starting my sleeve journey and beginning to complete all of the pre-operative testing. I'm curious to know' date=' for those who have sleeved, what are your biggest regrets about getting the sleeve? What would you have done differently? Why?[/quote']

Not doing it sooner- however think it happened the way it did at the time was for the best

I would have found my ed cbt specialist sooner!!

Thank you! I have NO regrets!!! I love my sleeve life, love that I have lost 82 pounds, I love that I can be active with my kids, and I love that I finally hit the single digits as of yesterday when I went shopping and fit into a size 8!

I am going on 3 months post op. I am down 40 pounds. I do not regret getting the sleeve. My only issue is eating seems to be more of a chore than enjoyment but I am sure that will change in time. There are "good" food days and "bad". I laugh and just say to myself my stomach is a fickle female. Can eat something one day and be fine and the next day not so much but that's ok. I will get better.

I am enjoying the shopping tho mostly resale because I am going thru clothing so quick. I am enjoying the gym and knowing I can do anything there I want to. My fav is the eliptical machine and am working up to a Zumba class. I am enjoying finally seeing the difference in the mirror. I enjoy the compliments I get at work and my family.

There are so many pluses to this surgery. Wish I had done this sooner than wait till I was 50 to finally take this step.

Don't give up!

I regret upsetting Sleevie J by eating french fries last week. Sleevie J no longer likes french fries.

I regret the very expensive size 18 dress I brought in September. I'll never be able to wear it again.

I regret the time I have spent wondering why I'm not losing weight faster. Slow weight loss is better than no weight loss.

I regret second guessing my decision in the days leading up to my surgery. This was the best thing I could have done!

I forgot one....

I regret initially obsessing over the numbers on the scale. The scale can mislead and deceive you into believing you are not as successful as you really are. I now put my trust into my measurements and how my clothes fit.

I am 9 months out, down 76 lbs, almost to my goal (about 12 lbs to go). Emotionally, physically, and spiritually I feel fantastic!

I had some major regrets in days following the surgery, but any signs of those passed after the first two weeks.

Even though I knew my weight was hindering so many parts of my life (not just outwardly) I had NO idea HOW much better my new healthy lifestyle would change my whole life for the better!!

No regrets today at all!! :)

I regret not using my "honeymoon phase" to it potential. Im now 6 mths out and have lost 22 lbs (started at 174, band revision so I knew it would be slower but this is ridiculous). I know its 100% my fault. I pride myself on losing 100 lbs with tne band eating whatever I want, just much less of it. Its no longer working for me. I fight every idea of a "diet". Its the reason I had wls, to stop dieiting. I think im pushing that idea too far. I eat WHATEVER I want ( a few bites tho) and Im not losing. Not gaining either. I think the sleeve has defintely allowed me to eat and not gain but I hafta actually TRY to lose my last 18 lbs.

The last 20 r certainly the hardest. Guess its now my time to put some effort into it. I shoulda been at goal by now. I only had 40 lbs to lose.

That's really my only regret

I am so glad to see this post...my lap band to sleeve surgery is Feb 3rd. I am nervous but excited too. I have a friend who had the lap band and then converted to the sleeve and when I asked her if she had any regrets she simply said that she wished she would have done this first. Don't get me wrong...I loved the band. I lost 90 lbs with it. I had back surgery and knee surgery after the band and I ended up gaining weight. I ended up with Acid reflux (the band got to tight) and I ignored it. The band has now slipped and I opted for the sleeve. I know that this time I will be very diligent with the "rules" for the sleeve and know that it is only going to be as good as I am. Ultimately it is up to me. It is a tool that I have to follow the instructions on. Good luck to all of you and may you be blessed with happiness and heath

I am glad I found this thread because my surgery is on Monday, February. 3 And I am now a basket case. I have been so excited about this long journey and now when I read posts all the negative post all jump out at me...the vomiting, Feeling sick all the time, etc. Iam reading what I can eat in each stage and think will my life revolve around what I can and can't eat...making sure I get enuff Protein in, measuring . please help!! should I just go back to weight watchers for the hundredth time and stick with it! Especially knowing what the alternative is? At least I wouldn't have to worry about what will go down safely!

In the beginning, the first 4 months, it was bad. Trouble with food and portions and reflux and bowel movements at inopportune times etc. But then I started getting back to normal. I wondered in the beginning but now, 175+ down and no regrets 15 months out.

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
