Thanks, now the fear of the unknown will soon visit I'm sure, lol.... I think the only thing I'm really really scared of is the blood thinner shots I have to give to myself.

***HIGH FIVE***

I think the best advice is.... there could be bumps.. no there will be bumps in the road in the beginning. The first 3-4 months post-op tend to be the hardest as you go through, healing, and then learning about the new you. One of the best things I did, was follwed the advice of a book I read written by a bypass patient. She said to write two letters to yourself. One for the days/week right after surgery that moment when "buyer's remorse" kicks in. It should remind you why you did this surgery, how you feel at your current weight, what inspires you to lose weight, etc. Then the second is for yourself 6 months from now, when you might start giving up, or letting old habits creep in. Remind yourself of your struggles, and to stay on course for the long haul. Be honest with yourself. No one has to see or know these letters exsist, or you can do what I did. Gave them to my boyfreind in sealed envelopes. I told him if I got to a low place, and needed it, to give me my letters. Its amazing what pure honesty with yourself reminds you. :)

Dont even worry about those little shots. I was worried too because I didnt know what to expect. But seriously, it hurts worse to pluck my eyebrows then those little shots. The tiny needle is so sharp that you hardly feel it. Although it does take a little guts to do it the first time but youll be just fine. After all tests and then the surgery, itll be the least of your concerns.

Congrats on your approval. I actually cried too when I got mine.

😫 Hi, I’m new to bariatricpal! I am 8 days post op VSG. I am struggling very badly. I’ve been so emotional because I feel like I’m doing wrong. I’m afraid I’ll eat or drink to fast or eat the wrong thing. I’ve been on Pinterest and YouTube constantly for help. I have followed all of my surgeons and dieticians instructions. I just don’t know if my body is getting enough. Today, I am weak, sore, and just exhausted.

It passes!! Everyone goes though it! It is a short term emotion! I'm almost five years post op! You made the right decision! Don't focus on the change right now. Try to entertain your mind. What your feeling only last about a week. It's related to your body adjusting and you mind adjusting. You got this!!

I agree with Tara it's hard right now but it gets better do t forget your hormones will be all over the place you may even feel depressed. Be kind to yourself reach out and talk to people how you are feeling .
