Recommended Posts

Today I am 3 months out, I was sleeved on Valentine's day and I am down 68lbs. I am about 3 pounds past my half way to goal mark.

I think we are all doing amazing!!

I don't know if many of you realize this' date=' but we are all making approximately the same progress. Most of us in this thread were sleeved the latter part of February and are approx 50 lbs lighter. It doesn't matter which week you lose the weight (What I call "stall panic"), as long as it keeps coming off![/quote']

True.

Sleeved 2/19 and a total of 56lbs down. I have hit my second stall which has lasted two weeks after losing 4-6lbs weekly. I get a bit frustrated since I have not deviated from the plan. I don't expect to lose as quickly as someone in their 20s or 30s but c'mon!

Track ur weight on a graph that way when u stall u will see the pattern and know its nothing u r doing just ur body adjusting so that weight lose can continue. Good luck

I noticed just about everyone here has lost at least 50lbs except me. I am doing everything I'm supposed to and excercising 3 times per week (Mostly weights). Does anyone know why I am not losing as much as everyone else who got the surgery around the same time?

What did u weigh when u got the surgery? Start there because those who r smaller will lose slower and r gonna lose less than someone my size who started at 308. Also ur working out which translates to muscle building thus smaller number cause muscle outweighs fat and so u may lose less on the number side but gain more muscle. Look at ur body tone and measurements before u feel bad.

I haven't lost 50lbs haven't even got to 30 yet. While its discouraging at times I'm going to keep trucking on.

I also workout 3days a week. Sunday is zumba for an hour, the treadmill and elliptical for 20 minutes each. The other 2 days I do 45 minutes on the treadmill and 30 on the eliptical. I do some strength training my trainer taught me every night at home and when I go to the gym.

I eat 800 -1200 calories in a day, drink my Protein and my Water.

On the plus side I am easily down 2 sizes I tell my kids the fat is shifting. Lol

For me there is no truth to larger people loose faster, I weighed 320 @ surgery and I'm losing at a snails pace.

I figure we are all different and will loose different.

There is some truth to heavier people lose faster, because they have a higher base metabolic rate (BMR). This is a generalization, however - everyone is different. I had my 3 month follow up today and they weighed me on the body analyzer scale. Since 1 year ago, I've lost 91 lbs of fat, 110 lbs total. My BMR has gone down over 400 Calories per day since then, which means I'd have to eat 400 calories a day less now to lose at the rate I did a year ago.

Everyone here has NOT lost at least 50 lbs. However when others post huge numbers or make blanket statements to that effect, it intimidates many other "slower" losers from posting. I am very happy with my loss; I average about 2 lbs/week.

I saw the post where someone says that, but in following others' trackers and another thread that I started called Slow Losers Unite, I don't think the 50-lb statement holds true for everyone sleeved in Feb. I had my surgery in early Feb and I'm at about 38 pounds down, which is the fastest I have ever lost weight in my life (I am hypothyroid, to start). I feel we should try to only compare our loss to ourselves and not others, even though it's very difficult.

I haven't measured myself at all. I am 5'2. Day of surgery I was 183. Today I am 148.

I was sleeved on 2/21. 283 on surgery day and today I am 231. So 52lbs in 12 weeks?

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
