Supplement suggestions?

Recommended Posts

Any recommendations on easy maintenance Vitamins. Brands or flavors? I saw Bariatric Fusion and I liked that it was chewable. Are they the best? Also, does anyone have any recommendations for supplements to take? I'm a bit lost when it comes to this.

What did your surgeon tell you to take? I take Vitamin D, and B12- sublingual dissolve, a chewable C and a One A Day adult multi (chewable) I also take a shot of some aloe seaweed juice my brother swears by and gave me! I use Natures Made D and B12- dissolves easy and taste good- not "vitaminy" nasty like others I have had.

This is what my surgeon provided for direction. However I couldn't stand the chewable BA Vitamin at all after surgery. I switched to a Gummy Vitamin. (I know it didn't provide the same nutrients, but I figure it was better then not taking anything.) About six weeks after surgery, I was able to switch to regular Vitamins.

By the way, this is my current Vitamin list. I'm about 7-1/2 months out now. My Vitamin levels test out great. I do get in a lot of Calcium from milk too. Personally, I think the regime from the surgeon was what they recommend for someone who had a gastric bypass. The only thing they changed in their literature was the name of the surgery. I've always been a vitamin taker, so I don't mind taking them twice a day. Four times a day was hard to remember.

Morning:

Mega Multi for Women by 21st Century

Vitamin D

Vitamin B12

Biotin

calcium citrate with D

Magnesium

Bedtime:

Mega Multi for Women by 21st Century

Iron

I was taking chewables from Bariatric fusion. They made me feel nauseous, and I was not sure for the cause. Later from an article I found out that it contained hidden fillers like Microcrystalline/Ethyl/Hydroxy Propyl Cellulose, Silicon/Titanium Dioxide etc that caused my symtoms.

After consulted a nut, I switched to Vita4Life. I take Calcium in malate chelate 1200 mcg in a serving of 4 capsules, Multivitamins in multi-standard formula and 1 Vitamin B12 sublingual in the form of methylcobalamin with 1000mcg. It’s been two years and my labs look great.

It has hit me today, as I sit in my chair at work that I don't have my belly sticking out to where it would hit the desk. Oh and I can cross my legs more comfortably. It amazes me just how much I have loss in inches vs actual pounds, I have lost 24 lbs all together. But I believe in inches all over about 3 inches. I am noticing more energy and have pep to my step. My skin is a lot clearer. My watch band is shorter by 3 notches. the little things are what I am noticing. When I bend over I don't feel out of breath or I am going to fall over ( weeble wobble).
I am having a hard time with my sweet tooth, it is very hard to not want to get some ice cream or chocolate. Candy I can do without. I have no craving really for that, just chocolate and ice cream. I have gone as far as taking Popsicle and putting them in my mixer with almond milk and making like ice cream with that/ sometimes I have added un-flavored protein powder.
I feel better everyday. The energy is great to have with having younger kids and being able to have the energy to keep up. 😃

If anyone has any advice on how to make your stomach feel better after you eat something you shouldn't have or at too fast, I would GREATLY appreciate it!! It's painful on both sides of my abdomen (like to the point I'm doubled over and using a hot water bottle in addition to medicine) and I'm really nauseous (the thought or smell of food is 🤢).
