Calling All Swedish Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have the SAGB. I recently went for my 3rd fill and am at 5.5cc. I'm wondering how much others have and at what point did they consider their 'sweet spot'.

I have the 10cc Swedish band as well. I am at 9 cc now and have lost 72 lbs. Its been 2 weeks since my last fill and I feel like the restriction is at a good level. All my fills provided adequate restriction for a while but as I lost more weight I also lost restriction. So, if I can't get this last 20 off with 9 cc's then I just might have to go for another tiny fill before I reach goal and go into maintenance.

Carol, you've done great. what are your portions like. With good restriction how much do you eat. I have basically been eating 2 cups of food (4oz Protein 1cup veggies or salad) for lunch and dinner and a pack of oatmeal for Breakfast. At least that is what I ate the first 6 months. The last 2 months I fell off the bandwagon and have only maintained my weight with a slight gain. I am still on liquids from my last fill but am hoping that I get full once on solids on 1-1.5 cups of food.

I was banded with SAGB, but I have no information on the size of the band itself...(cubic centimeter)

No information on the box ...

Hi All

i have the sagb and am at 7.2cc and off for another fill in a weeks time. ive had 7.2 cc since feb of 2005 so im well overdue a top up .. weight has stayed the same for 8 months now so at least i never put any back on.. will keep ya posted as to what i am given in the next fill. I think its a 11cc band that holds about 9.5 cc comfortably.. not 100% sure though.. will make a point of asking my surgeon when i see him..

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
