I Have Gained 15 Lbs But Dropped 3 Pants Sizes

Like everyone else has said, you look great and it's good to have more muscle because muscle burns at least 4 times as many calories as fat does (Dr. Oz, on metabolism). Keep up the good work!

Before I had this surgery I was worried about loose skin and not having any muscle tone after the surgery. Well I am proud to say that I am a year out of surgery and I don’t have any loose skin. I have always lifted weights and wanted continue after I had my surgery. I am going to be honest when I got back in the gym after surgery I was extremely weak' date=' in college I could bench about 475 lbs., when I got back in the gym I could barely bench 145 lbs. I stuck to it and now I am up to 375 lbs., I work out 4 days a week and I swim 3 say a week. I don’t run or walk because of the stress on my knees, I think once I get to my target weight I will start to run. Just recently I have noticed that I have gained 15 lbs. but my waist and my shirt size has reduced by 3 sizes. At first I was frustrated about the weight gain but I was told that I am gaining muscle mass and it is much heavier than fat. I think I am going to add more cardio to my routine so I can get to my target weight then I will continue my weight regimen. I am so glad I decided to have this surgery..it has really changed my life!!![/quote']

Coki the easy part will be losing the weight...u cant eat so u will lose weight very fast, the hard part is changing your body, you have to eat lots of Protein and make sure u add some type of weight regimen to make sure u dont all that loose skin.

Bawse u look amazing dude. How soon after could you really get into weight lifting? I know you mentioned you were weak at first. Wandering if u had to increase the Protein intake to do weight lifting and byhow much? Sorry for bombarding with questions but u justgave memore confidence to go thru with this. I lift weights and want really know when i ll be back doing this. Loose skin is def scary thing. Yhanks for sharing my man

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
