Recommended Posts

If your away from home and o. The run' date=' try a wendys small chili! It's delicious and healthy. It's high in Protein, low in fat and calories. It's also less than 2! My nutritionist suggested it to me and I love it![/quote']

I agree with this..I normally can make two meals out of it too!

Where can I get a single jar of PB2? I can't seem to order it online except in bulk. What stores carry it?

I bought mine at Whole Foods - I wasn't a huge fan, it's ok if you need a pb fix but I don't use it as often as I thought I would

Crispy roasted chickpeas. I believe it's 7g of Protein per a serving. All you do is bake one can of chickpeas lightly salted or spiced how you like. Pat dry with paper towel and drizzle with a little olive oil. And bake at 400f for about 30-40 mins. Or until they become crunchy. It's awesome!!! I discovered it online a few months ago as an alternative to potato chips!!! It's a great snack!

How long post op before the chili? It has meat in it' date=' right?[/quote']

Well..I puréed it up..so I guess it could be considered soft if you purée it up...yes there is Beans and meat in it. I am 6 months out so I just eat it..about 1/2 if it and leave the other 1/2 for later.

Yep' date=' there can certainly be exceptions. Just in general, what ORT said is what I've found as well. Reading the entire label is always a good way to go. But some people just see "low fat" or "fat free" and think it's good. Peanut Butter is one of the items I've noticed most. "Reduced fat" Peanut Butter has almost just as many calories, but instead of fat (which occurs naturally in peanuts) it contains way more processed high glycemic carbs.[/quote']

Thank you this helps a lot. I do read the entire label & dont go by just "fat free" & I also compare. Very glad you & ORT commented on this thread. Im always up for learning.

Idk if all of you eat Avocado but my Nut program recommends them. I am preop but this is one of the recipes I make and I imagine I will be able to eat this when released to full food after surgery

10 oz canned tuna drained

1/2 medium avocado mashed well

2 cloves garlic pressed

Salt&pepper to taste

It makes a bunch but I just use 2 oz or so at a time and eat on cucumber slices. You could eat sliced bell pepper with or celery or anything . The recipe sounded gross to me at first but I tried it anyway and was pleasantly surprised:)

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
