I Cheated In Pre Op Diet, Help

Recommended Posts

Today makes 5 days I hadn't ate nothing. But with everyone else eating I dug around in my freezer and start reading labels. I found sausage and it had 0 carbs and 0 sugar so I caved in and had some. Now I feel horrible and scared because I don't won't to cancel my surgery which is only 3 days away. I have got to take something Wednesday for my bowls called in by my surgeon do you think I will be ok since I swear not to eat nothing else?

You should be fine. Sausage does tend to be high in fat and sodium so make sure your drinking a lot of Water. And just don't tell the surgeon that you did it.

Pre-op diet sucks and is hard for everyone. Do not get down on yourself about it. You will be absolutely fine. I was never asked about the diet after I started it and most people are not. I worried myself to death and cheated way more than that and it was ok. I still lost weight, which was the goal. Stay strong--help (your sleeve) is on the way! If it helps you any, it is so much easier after the sleeve.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
