My latest rant...

How can one go about stalking anther online? I see a lot of the same people in the threads I open. I thought it was because we share common interests... no matter how twisted they might be...

:) I don't get it?

Heathergurl, I don't want to start crap with anyone on this board, but did this really call for the start of a new thread? There are enough threads in this section this could have fit under. Please, this is only adding fuel to the fire in the she vs she crap going on here. Thanks for your time.

I am sorry Kelly but I have been accused of approving of stalking... I just want to know what it is...

I am Honest to Goodness not trying to fuel the fire. I don't understand why I am being accused of something I am not doing. I guess you could lock this if it isn't appropriate, but I have never broken the LBT rules.

People, I am just asking an honest question.

My perception (and I'm a lurker) is some people feel that if you are even in a thread that they are answering you are a stalker. Go figure...

I am sorry that you have been accused of stalking. I think what we have going on is that some people have too much time on their hands and have nothing better to do than post on LBT. I assumed, which we all know what that means, that you were just trying to stir. I am sorry for my accusations and will withdraw from your thread. Thanks for explaining.

Nothing better to do than post on LBT? Isn't that why we are all here? :0) I have LBT up on my work screen all day... I have plenty to do, but LBT is worth posting on for me.

Here, in my very own thread I vow to not comment on any more nonsense on those I dislike here!

I will still read the threads, but I can not check who is in what one before I go in there so I won't be a stalker to those who don't like me... confusing enough?

I believe the stalking referred to has to do with someone starting a thread, or even posting on someone else's then having another come in and post snide remarks and sarcasm in reference to the original poster's remarks. Although, some people think their remarks are clever enough to cover up the malice intended, it is sometimes very obvious that another poster is replying for the sake of making the other appear foolish. When this becomes a game for one or several in a group, I think it could be considered 'stalking', especially when it becomes habitual to the point of disrupting entire threads and eventually an entire board.

Hope that makes sense.

We have all been in situations where people have ganged up on us for some reason or another. On a message board, it sort of appears as a flock of vultures or a pack of wolves descending on it's prey. Laying in wait, for the next post, just so they can add their next barb or backhanded compliment. Childish really, but disruptive and hurtful nonetheless.

Months ago I told P'Nut I wanted nothing to do with her...Nothing. She then posted to me in a thread that "Was I coming home soon and was she going to meet me"...I don't think so!! She continued with all the stuff about support meetings in Idaho I have no interest in, mostly because she is there, and wouldn't stop. I told her to move on and she didn't like it. I tried every nice way I could to get her off my butt, but she didn't budge, knowing all along I didn't like her or want anything to do with her. This continued for a whole thread...that is called stalking I think.

I avoid her threads like the plague...Gone For Good and the Idaho thread. You don't find me posting to her or anyone from Idaho on there....it's a good way to feel safe. If you don't like someone, stay away from them.

You I know nothing about or anything about your stalking as it is called.....your name didn't ring any type of bell to me, because I've only been stalked by one person and perhaps one of her friends.

Take care.

The stalking accusations are what have driven me to "log out and lurk". I will only log in to post. Why should we have to defend ourselves against reading and posting in ANY thread as long as we aren't being ugly and we ARE following the rules? Why do we have to get our user names plastered in a post asking "WHY are you here"?

So, if the definition of being a "stalker" is reading posts and commenting whenever and wherever we feel like it - as I said last night - stalk on LBT, stalk on.

However, I'll be doing it "stealth".

That is all.

Hmm... So about post #297 of this thread... :)

You know, after re-reading things I can see exactly why me saying, "Hey Dody, if you're coming back to Boise you'd be more than welcome at the lapband support group meetings." would warrant such an attack from you. I really don't blame you at all for taking something I shared with my group of friends on the Gone for Good Club thread and using it to rip me to shreads. In fact, I'm such a mean and spiteful person that we should all be grateful for the good hearted, Christian women who have picked up the sword of Justice and come at me with the wrath of God on their side.

First off, you are entitled to start a thread if you want to.. and, I'm with you...last night I was accused of being a shark because I was reading threads and my name showed up on the bottom as being on the thread..this person claimed that she had followers. (What a self important ass). So apparently there are those who seem to think that if you read more than one thread, you are a stalker or some sort of worshipper...ugh get me a bucket. I hope the moderators read these threads and start suspending the bullies.

I think its time for me to "iggy" the idiots...and then I think I'll call the village and tell them where they can find them!

Ah we are bringing God into this again are we? That is why I changed the bottom of my post...another thing for you to dredge up.

You knew I couldn't stand you so why would you say "Are you coming back to Idaho, are we finally going to meet you"...I tried every way I could to get you to back off...telling you let it go....move on...just move on, but no you couldn't. You only got attacked on your thread for picking on 3 Loves and you know it...you think you can get away with anything and everything. Who will be your next victim...that poor girl that just signed on from Idaho looks like the latest victim. You are already wanting to meet her...God help her.

Supporting alcoholism is being an enabler...ever heard that word. That is what you are taught at al-anon. You don't support alcoholics, you make them own up to their actions, and apparently you are having too much fun to admit there is a problem, even though I think your own dr. has pretty much written you off till you get help.

Me-I feel sorry for you. Enough said.

So I guess after gastric bypass surgery, I cant eat flock chips because they are fried???  They sell them on here so I thought I could have them. So high in protein and no carbs.  They don't bother me at all.  Help.

It's possible for a very high fat meal to cause dumping in some (30% or so) gastric bypass patients, although it's more likely to be triggered by high sugar, or by the high fat/high sugar combo (think ice cream, donuts). Dietitians will tell you to never do anything that isn't 100% healthy ever again. Realistically, you should aim for a good balance of protein, carbs, and fat each day. Should you eat fried foods every day? No. Is it possible they will make you sick? Maybe. Is it okay to eat some to see what happens and have them for a treat every now and again? Yes.

I'm not at all hungry on this liquid pre-op diet, but I miss the sensation of chewing. It's been about two weeks––surgery is in two days––and I can't imagine how I'll feel a couple of weeks post-op. Tonight, I randomly stumbled upon a mukbang channel on YouTube, and it was strangely soothing... is it just me, or is this a thing?

I actually watched cooking shows during my pre-op, like Great British Baking Show. It was a little bizarre, but didn't make me hungry. I think it was also soothing in a way.

How do you figure out what your ideal weight should be? I've had a figure in my head for years, but after 3 mths of recovery I'm already almost there. So maybe my goal should be lower?

      1. NickelChip

Well, there is actually a formula for "Ideal Body Weight" and you can use a calculator to figure it out for you. This one also does an adjusted weight for a person who starts out overweight or obese. https://www.mdcalc.com/calc/68/ideal-body-weight-adjusted-body-weight

I would use that as a starting point, and then just see how you feel as you lose. How you look and feel is more important than a number.

      2. Clueless_girl

I did find different calculators but I couldn't find any that accounted for body frame. But you're right, it is just a number. It was just disheartening to see that although I lost 60% of my excess weight, it's still not in the "normal/healthy" range..

      3. NickelChip

I think it's important to remember that the weight charts and BMI ranges were developed a very long time ago and only intended to be applied to people who have never been overweight or obese. Those numbers aren't for us. When you are larger, especially for a long time, your body develops extra bone to support the weight. Your organs get a little bigger to handle the extra mass. Your entire infrastructure increases so you can support and function with the extra weight. That doesn't all go away just because you burn off the excess fat. If you still had a pair of jeans from your skinniest point in life and then lost weight to get to the exact number on the scale you were when those jeans fit you, chances are they would be a little baggy now because you would actually be thinner than you were, even though the scale and the BMI chart disagree. When in doubt, listen to the jeans, not the scale!

Tomorrow marks two weeks since surgery day and while I'm feeling remarkably well and going about just about every normal activity, I did wind up with a surface abscess on on of my incision sights and was put on an antibiotic that made me so impacted that it took me more than two hours to eliminate yesterday and scared the hell out of me. Now there's Miralax in all my beverages that aren't Smooth Move tea. I cannot experience that again. I shouldn't have to take Ativan to go to the lady's. I really looking forward to my body getting with the program again.
I'm in day three of the "puree" stage of eating and despite the strange textures, all of the savory flavors seem decadent.
I timed this surgery so that I'd be recovering during my spring break. That was a good plan. Today is a state holiday and the final day of break. I feel really strong to return to school tomorrow.

Now that I'm in maintenance mode, I'm getting a into a routine for my meals. Every day, I start out with 8-16 ounces of water, and then a proffee, which I have come to look forward to even the night before. My proffees are simply a black coffee with a protein powder added. There are three products that I cycle through: Premier Vanilla, Orgain Vanilla, and Dymatize Vanilla.
For second breakfast on workdays, I will have a low-fat yogurt with two tablespoons of PBFit and two teaspoons of no sugar added dried cherries. I will have ingested 35-45 grams of protein at this point between the two breakfasts, with 250-285 calories, and about 20 carbs.
For second breakfast on non-workdays, I will prepare two servings of plain, instant oatmeal with a tablespoon of an olive oil-based spread. This means I will have had 34 grams of protein, 365 calories, and 38 carbs. Non-workdays are when I am being very active with training sessions, so I allow myself more carbohydrate fuel.
Snacks on any day are always mixed nuts, even when I am travelling. I will have 0.2 cups of a blend that I make myself. It consists of dry roasted peanuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, pistachios, and Brazil nuts. This is 5 grams of protein, 163 calories, and 7 carbs.
Breakfast and snacks have been the easiest to nail down. Lunch and dinner have more variables, and I prepare enough for leftovers. I concentrate on protein first, and then add vegetables. Typically tempeh, tofu, or Field Roast products with roasted or sautéed vegetables. Today, I will be eating leftovers from last night. Two ounces of tempeh with four ounces of roasted vegetables that consist of red and yellow sweet peppers, sweet potatoes, small purple potatoes, zucchini, and carrots. I will add a tablespoon of olive oil-based spread, break up 3 walnuts to sprinkle of top, and garnish with two tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese. This particular meal will be 19 grams of protein, 377 calories, and 28 grams of carbs. Bear in mind that I do eat more carbs when I am not working, and I focus on ingesting healthy carbs instead of breads/crackers/chips/crisps.
It's a helluva journey and I'm thankful to be on it!
