Ok, it took 6 days for the rear drive to get back in gear after surgery. Now that it is...it's *ahem* coming out like it should from the front drive.....does that make sense? Tryin to be as un-gross as possible. Is this a normal problem? Could it also be coinciding with me quitting my pain meds?

I am six days out, also very liquid. I figure that is because of what we are eating, I would rather have that brandy's problem!

narcotic pain killers such as Hydrocodone cause Constipation. it will most likely is because you stoped taking meds and you are not eating Fiber containing or bulky food. keep hydrated! Good luck!

This is quite normal considering that we can't put much in our stomachs. If your worried about not going, you can use Miralax, colace, MOM, benefiber to help you go. This will be much easier later on. ;)

I have to be honest and tell you that while I was on my pre-op diet I was miserable becuase I was constipated. Then after surgery it was the opposite. I even had a time when I went I would get sick to my stomach and throw up so I have been all over with this issue. Thank goodness I am back to "almost" normal. I am almost 6 weeks out. I have days that I don't go which is not normal for me. From what I have been told is we are eating a lot less then we used to so you should not be going as much. Hope that helps. :D

Was having the same problems first 4 days, was told to drink "Milk of Magnesia" by my nutrionist. Currently 1 month & 1 week post & things seem to be back to normal. Stopped taking meds. probably 4 days after surgery.

I'm six days post-op myself and I'm in the same boat (ha!) as you. Brandimarie is right as it has to do with the fact that all you are consuming is liquids.< /p>

I finally got unclogged. I think it takes a few days to regulate once you transition to mushy foods.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
