The Soonest You Went Back To School Or Work?

Recommended Posts

My surgery is soon. I am a full time student, and my professors don't mind letting me off, but I don't want to get behind. Most of the stuff I can do online, but some things have to be done in the science lab. I am thinking 1 week off and hit the classroom. I have two classes on campus and two online. Is this too soon? I am expecting to come out just fine in Jesus name, no complications. Let me know how quickly you went back to work or school. Also, I was not expecting to have surgery so soon, but better now than never. No chicken here. One class is only 1 hour 15 minutes 2xweek, and the other 3 hours twice week. Mon-Thurs. I believe my teacher will let me leave early after the lab or lecture because of my surgery. I have to work it out with her. Most work is turned in online.

I went back to work after one week. I felt weak but I was okay to do my job and its a desk job mostly. I did fine. I think you can handle a class or two a week. Its not that bad a surgery. You will be fine.

I went back to work after one week full of energy. My only issue was remembering to drink/eat. I had to put myself on a timer.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
