Hispanic Gastric Sleevers - Question

Recommended Posts

For any of you that speak Spanish, I want to get a tattoo that says, "love my sleeve" in Spanish, since I was sleeved in Mexico. My freind from Honduras doesn't know how to spell it since shirt sleeve and tatto sleeve are different and he doesn't have a clue about a stomach sleeve. Does anyone know how it should be spelled? Thanks.

Sleeve gastrectomy is called Manga gastrica, therefore I would say that "love my sleeve" would be "amo mi manga" or "amo a mi manga"

Where in Mexico did you have your sleeve, I am having mine there Dec 10 in Tijuana, by Dr.Almanza. My sister had hers done there also by Dr Kelly. I am soo excited, but yet nervous. Good look with your tattoo.

Paola, thanks a lot. I think I like "amo mi manga". Chrissy I went to Dr. Kelly in TJ. Love, love, love him. I had a picture perfect post op. No pain, no gas, felt like I didn't even have surgery until the exhaustion hit me about day 6. But at about 15 days out I felt compeletely back to normal.

You can also mixed sleeve with "yo amo "

"yo amo mi sleeve" or sounds even nicer "Amo mi Sleeve"

Paola is right sleeve is manga, but manga has different meaning in Spanish

Like Sleeve in English . Manga could be a hose or tube and also manga means the sleeve of a shirt :)

Suggestions :

"Amo mi vida, Amo mi sleeve"

"I love my life, I love my sleeve " :)

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
