Hair loss with PCOS before the sleeve?

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

Just wondering if anyone that has PCOS has Hair loss before surgery? I am preop and already super thin up to[. I am taking Biotin and using Nioxin.

I know with wls you can lose hair but it usually grows back...curious if you had hair thining prior to surgery did your hair start filling in after you lost

weight and hormones evened out?

What do you do to cover up your thin hair? I am so embarassed cause its very noticeable.

I'm wondering this too - I have thin hair on top already and I am moving into my 3rd month post surgery. I haven't had any Hair loss from the surgery as of yet but I'm expecting some. I think for the winter I'll wear hats if I have to... lol ... not sure how it will be but I am nervous about it!

I'm also in my third month and was thin on top. I am losing a bit and I sure do hope it grows back otherwise I am going to look like I have some kind of problem....maybe I"m just gonna cut it off.

Thankfully I still have not had any Hair loss. I got a cut today to give it some body and I do notice that it seems a bit fuller than before - maybe because of all of the Vitamins. It seems inevitable that some is going to fall out in the future but I am really hoping that I might be one of those few that don't lose more. I'll be bald on top for sure if I do!

I hope everyone is having a lovely week so far!
It's been a bit of a struggle this last week...I'm hungry ALL the time.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
