Does anybody drink energy drinks??

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I dont drink energy drinks, not a big fan, but lately I have been feeling very tired at night time and somebody suggested to drink one once in a while. Is this good?? Does anybody drinks energy drinks?? Your comments are important.

I drank a 5 hour energy a couple weeks ago because I was just absolutely exhausted - and let me tell you - it was NOT good! My stomach immediately started doing summersaults and I had to go to the bathroom right away. It also made me super shaky for the rest of the night. Before I had surgery, I LOVED 5 Hour Energy's and usually drank one once a week or so.

I don't drink them - never did. I don't drink caffeine. If you are tired, you might be running low on B12. Or, if you are on blood pressure meds, you may need to take less. Check your blood pressure and see if it is running too low. Both the B12 and BP situation came up with me, and both made me feel just exhausted. Now that my B12 levels are good, and I back off of most of the BP meds per my doctor's orders, I have all the energy I need.

I do drink an energy drink every now and again. My doctor said stay away from caffeine because of increased stomach acid, but I take a pill daily anyway and have not noticed an increase. I do, however, have no tolerance for any carbonation whatsoever, which is not good for you anyway, so I would suggest either the Monster Rehab, which is tea and lemonade and has only 20 calories in the entire can, or the Rockstar Recovery kinds, which are lemonade, grape and orange which all have only 20 calories and are carbonation free. All of them are also very low carbs, so if you have to have a pick me up these are ideal, and you can sip on them throughout the day to avoid that shaky side affect. They all also have B12 in them I am fairly positive.

I don't, never have. I would say no because of the caffeine and aren't they carbonated too? Carbonation is not supposed to be good for our sleeve either.

Kelly :)

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
