@@Dee951 I think @@reallyrosy has a point. Is your goal weight one that your surgeon gave you, or you yourself? On another topic, one woman took a year and a half to reach her goal. She had a bunch of stalls but kept at it. I know that I get caught up reading the ticker tapes with folks that lose all their weight...sometimes a 100+ pounds in under a year. My goal weight is 148, my surgeon thought 150. I have been 161 since last November and held fairly stable. My surgeon now believes I am at my correct weight. For now, I will just work on staying at this weight. But I really would "like" to get under 148. The main thing is that I feel fabulous! I'm able to go up and down the stairs without stopping and all of my comorbiditities have corrects themselves. One day at a time.

@@reallyrosy I set that goal weight. @@FinallyFit50s yeah I'm trying not to be so hard on myself but when I was told that it just made me feel worse. People tell me I would be to thin at 140. I'm just going to having a small pity party but I'm not going to let it get me to down. I'm to close to give up now. Thank you guys for the kind words.

I get what all of you are saying. Trust me I'm 3 mos away from 6 years out. Have I gone up and down? Yes! Have I lost total control of comfort/junk food? Sure have! But i also know this - regaining 10-20 lbs is NOTHING compared to where I was at 250 lbs. I think we all just believed that this "magic" surgery was going to solve all our problems and we would sail through the rest of our lives skinny and fit. Unfortunately, I think we all understand now that it's just a TOOL. Unless we continue To be vigilant we WILL gain. I, honestly, don't do much exercise. I know I should and I try to walk a few times a week but that's it. The other thing is studies have shown that our bodies are metabolically changed after years of yo yo dieting and then weight loss surgery. A NORMAL weight person will gain some weight, cut back and lose. No problem. Not us. I know for me my BMR is about 1350 cal per day. That's low for common folk! I WILL GAIN above that. To lose I have to be about 800-1000 a day! And most times I try to cut that back on a couple days to 500-700. Do I like it? Nope. Really I don't but I had this surgery to be healthy and try to somehow protect myself as much as possible from stroke, diabetes etc. I guess what I'm saying- just keep trying and moving forward. We are survivors! Truly we are. I'm 62. Just thinking that I have done this for myself and managed to keep at it is empowering in itself!!!

Hey October Surgery friends...how are you doing? I've lost 15 lbs since surgery on 18th.42 lbs overall. Wearing clothes that feel great. Had a bout of cold and stomach flu and still having some nausea off and on after that but getting better, I think.
Seems like I fill up and have minor pain quicker when I eat hot foods rather than cold. Anyone else notice this?
Still sooo glad I did this.

I had surgery Oct 29. Lost 35#. Plateau now. But seeing what clothes fit now is encouraging.

My surgery was 10/19. #40 down since surgeon pre op visit. Getting close to end of soft foods. I think only issue going to regular foods is portion size. So far trying a new food every day. With no issues.
