It's normal. Relax and search for threads about stalls. I stalled from about 3-5 weeks, but then I dropped seven pounds the following week.

Most folks go through it, just keep following your surgeon's plan and you'll be fine. Your body needs to adjust.

You and I had it done around the same time and have lost about the same amount of weight it seems. I am a revision from Lap Band.

My body loses weight quickly. I usually have a week or two occasionally of little to no weight loss. It seems that time period is for my body to catch up. When i don't lose scale weight, I lose inches. I recall a lot of people talking about this on here.

How are you tolerating foods these days? I am having trouble because of frequent diarrhea within 20-30 minutes after eating sometimes sooner. :biggrin0:

Week three was slow for me, then close to end of week four i dropped 4 pounds and it has been another week and I have lost another 3-4 pounds already. I started exercising and logging my food into Fatsecret.com it is paying off. I will do my six week weigh in a week from friday and I will update my ticker.

So I was in same boat as you in week three when I started on some decent food, just keep plugging along. Chances are you can't not lose weight if you keep your calorie intake down and eat decently.

Don't get too worried. I bet your body is just happy to have some food back.

No problems with tolerating any kind of food. just much smaller amts of food and of course if i eat too much it hurts but can eat anything and have had no upset stomach of any kind. very lucky !

This too shall pass. My doc told me it would happen in week three and it would last 1-2 weeks. It lasted 12 Looooonnnnngggg days, but then the stall broke. My doc says it's just the body's way of adjusting.

Girrrl, I thought the same thing...I'm 1 month out tomorrow and have only lost 13 lbs. so you are doing AWESOME compared to me LOL! I know it will eventually come off, so no rush, as long as it does come off.

Just wanted to drop a "thank you" to all who posted here. I wasn't expecting the stall, and while my weight loss up to wk 3 was great, I've been bouncing off of 300 for a few days now. Guess I'll have to stop weighing myself for a few days and check it again next week!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
