March 2010 Sleevers

Recommended Posts

:lol0:I was sleeved on March 25th also. Im on day 28. Highest weight 229, preop 210, today 188. I am 5 ft tall, the Dr.'s goal weight is 110, mine is 140. Im muscular and big boned, I dont think 110 is possible for me. I have enjoyed reading everyones posts. It is very helpful. I am going to try soft eggs, I hope I have as much success with eggs as most of you have. If yall have any other recipe ideas please let me know. Im from New Orleans, so flavor is absolutely necessary. lol I am living in Mississippi now. Glad to meet you all! Sheri chichis30@yahoo.com

I lost 21 lbs in 2 1/2 weeks. I was concerned at such a rapid weight loss, but now I have not lost one lb. in 6 days! So now I am concerned in the other direction. LOL

Some people loss every week... I am like you, I have not lost any weight this week. I saw my Dr. On Monday and he said I can eat regular food but I am too scared so I am staying with soft foodlow carbs. It will start coming off again.

I kind of feel like the odd ball. Everyone's posts always talk about how good and energetic they are feeling and I am just not there yet! I am happy for those of you who are enjoying your sleeves so much. I can't wait to be there with you. For now I need to just focus on staying hydrated and trying to not sink too deeply into a crummy attitude.

I'm with you. I feel great that I had the surgery and confident that the weight will come off I am absolutly exhausted. I find myself grabbing a bench for a few minutes if I am walking around the mall for a while or just up on my feet for an hour or two. I have NEVER dont that before. I don't dare hit the recliner after work or I will nod right out. Water intake is fine, Protein intake is 70+ on most days so not quite sure what the problem is. Maybe I'm just getting old but I am really wiped out at the end of the day. I had the misfortune of injuring my foot a few weeks after WLS which has severly limited cardio exercise. I think that is probably the issue. I am back to every other day on ellyptical and hope it whips me back into energetic shape.:sad0:

I understand how you feel, I have always been a very active person, when I first had the sleeve I was dragging, and then I started having my coffee in the morning, and it has helped most days, but I definitely dont have the energy I used to. I do sometimes get dizzy, but I think thats from lack of food or certain foods. Your body isnt getting fueled like it used to. I have a problem getting enough Water, I used to drink water like crazy, but I have to sip, and when I have been working in the yard and dieing for water, sipping it sucks, and I tend to drink to much and it doesnt feel good. In order to get the energy when I have alot to do I cheat, I fill up on caffiene any way I can. I dont excersize like most have, I have 10 dogs and 2 horses, among other critters, and they keep me busy. Spring has help also. I love gardening and yard work. Thats how I get my excersize. I used to use my eliptical, but its out of order presently. We do have a excersize bike and I may start using that, because my legs are getting a bit fluffy. lol. Just remember, this is a whole new life for all of us, retraining our bodies with proper nutrition and I think the small amounts just might be the reason we feel a little week and exhausted. Our bodies are still big but the "gas tank" isnt. This is just an opinion, take notes on your days and talk to the Dr. about your concerns. Good Luck! Sheri:smile1:

You know the thing I like most about this surgery? When you are at a food court in the mall and hungary go to the folks that are giving out samples on the toothpicks. One or two samples and you are good to go. Its like getting free lunch. ;-)

That is hysterical! I haven't thought about that!

Yeah! Yesterday I let myself have my first really yummy food post op (and I thought I was going hog wild!) I went to my local fast food place and ordered their budget cheeseburger 59 cents, and ate about 3/4 of it and was super done, and honestly satisfied. It tasted yummy to eat something different. Then the bonus was when I entered it into my day it didn't ruin the world. Nothing too major!!! I am gonna learn how to live successfully by dang!

Thats awesome! .....samples, never thought that far ahead. lol I was told by a friend of mine that had the bypass done, she gets the smallest burger without the top bun, the bread is too much for her. I think thats what I will do also, besides I dont like the top bun anyway. haha Tonight I baked a potato than I spooned out the insides ( I did it carefully, saving the shell to make my hubby a snack by filling it with bacon and cheese etc.) then I put the potato in a small pot added broth then cottage cheese and a dab of butter with some Tony's seasoning (gave it a lil kick) very good. Would enjoy any ideas to change things up a bit. Thanks!

Any March Sleevers experience a stall yet. I have just lost 2 pounds over the last 3 weeks. My Dr told me it would happen but I sure aint liking it.

I am right with you, the weight loss has slowed down for a bit, but just think a true stall is NO weight loss for a 14 day period. I need to throw some more exercise in the mix to shock the system a bit. Just look at those tickers! That is still a lot of weight lost in a 2 month time period. Go us!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
