Congratulations on your date! You are right, we all lose at such different rates with this surgery. But I completely understand wanting to know of other's progress.

At 6 weeks, I had lost about 26 pounds from my surgery day. At 3 months, I was down about 48 pounds from the day of surgery. I was not as fast as some, but steadily lost except for my 2 or so week stall, which began around 2.5 weeks post-op.

AS for ankle and joint pain, all I can say is this has been one of the best things about this surgery. Exercise is so much easier when you weigh less.

Good luck and keep us posted! Your date is so close.

Great news on your surgery date. I can totally relate to joint pain. One of the main reasons I had this surgery was that the weight was causing so much pain on my joints, especially my hips. I would have pain constantly. I would wake up at night just from the pressure of sleeping on my sides which would cause severe pain in my hips. I have lost 31.5 pounds (6 weeks out) and the pain in my hips is nearly gone. I still have it some, but it gets better and better as the pounds drop off. I just started exercising recently where before surgery I couldn't walk a block without being in terrible pain. I think it will help your joints tremendously. Best wishes to you.

I'm glad you feel secure with your coordinator. Are you having your surgery done in Mexico? Do you have anyone at home when your in recovery that will know about your surgery and support you? Please stay connected to this forum which is supportive. Let us know how your doing. I'll pray for a safe uneventful surgery and recovery.

Hi, and welcome to VST. Congrats on getting your date, and I'll keep you in my thoughts as your day approaches.

I honestly can't remember how much I lost the first 6 weeks and I didn't track it anywhere, but around my 4 month mark, I had dropped 75-80lbs.

Welcome!!!

Congratulations on your date!! I think you will be very happy with your decision.

As far as the joint pain.... it will help TREMENDOUSLY!!

I had knee replacement surgery- and that was my deciding factor on WLS- I could barely walk. Now..... I have no pain. no heel spurs anymore, I got so many stress fractures because of my weight I spent almost a year in a moon boot!!...my feet don't hurt, my back doesn't hurt- I am so much more healthier!!

G'luck and keep us posted on your progress!

Hello and Welcome!!

I had a fractured ankle on Thanksgiving 2007 and then major ankle surgery July 2008. I'm hoping that any residual pain will leave once I've let go of some weight.

I'm only two weeks out so I don't have long range numbers but I can tell you that I'm down 13 pounds in two weeks. I've had no complications and love my Sleeve!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
