I bought my unflavored Protein Powder at GNC for the clear stage which I mixed with crystal lite. I thought posting a spot where people could buy samples would be a good idea, since so many people end up buying tubs of stuff they end up not liking.

Good! Keep them coming. When new people are researching, it will be good

for them to have a place to go to get

samples. There is no sense in buying a big

tub and finding out you can't stand it.

Someone can recommend something,

but everyone has different taste.

Just new Info...

I ordered the Chike samples last week... shipping isn't $3 anymore..it's $6.95 ....samples were still worth it and I really enjoyed the Orange Creme...didn't care so much for the chocolate as it was really thick....probably would have been better in a blender with ice but I like my chocolate hot....(as in cocoa).

I'm going to try the banana today.

Buying these sample kits really gives you a great way to check out alot of products for minimal cost and gives you a great variety to prevent boredom too.

OregonDaisy, thanks for starting this post. As a pre-op I want to get a supply of samples. I understand that post-op my tastebuds may change and it will be great to have samples and not have to purchase big containers only to find that I don't like it.

You're welcome! That's why I put this here. I want people to have a variety to choose from so they are able to find a Protein they like for the post op diet. Getting in your Protein post op is important!

It keeps you from getting so hungry and helps so you don't lose muscle Losing muscle will cause saggy skin.

Hi, thanks for all the info, it's really great of you. I am post op, but no-one here seems to know what sort of protein supplements I need, sleeve surgery is very new to UK and I was just told to take a Multivitamin. Obviously since finding this site I now know better andhave even found a GNC uk site where I can buy it from. I am looking for a powder that is unflavoured and can be added to food as i cannot stomach shakes. Anyone know a brand name I can have a look at, all the Proteins look the same to me lol.

I used the GNC brand of unflavored Protein powder. It's not completely unflavored though. I didn't find it made food taste badly though.

Thanks for that, will see if i can get hold of some in the UK. I figure any Protein I can get in is better than none.

I found those protien shots at Walmart too I thought the fruit punch tasted very good. I heard somewhere that this is not a good source of protien....don't remember where I heard that. I forgot to ask my dr. about it. I'm realllllllllly confused about what protien is good and what is not! My surgery is in 2mos. Oh and thanks for all the info on samples I'm really excited now about ordering them!!!!!!!

Protein shots are made from collagen Protein not whey protein. Collagen is not a good form of protein, but most doctors will say a form of protein that is not a good quality protein is better than no protein at all.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
