Just wanted to ask regarding the stuck feeling - does anyone know if it is the same kind of stuck feeling you get with the lap band.

If it is, then now I am getting quite anxious because I decided to get the sleeve done and was actually looking forward to it.

Now I am having second thoughts...

Help please.

You also have to remember everybody's bodies are different. For me, I've only gotten that "stuck" feeling once with my sleeve. It was not as painful and I didn't PB, slime like I did with the band.

This happened on a piece of chicken within the first couple of days of me transitioning to solid food with the sleeve.

It is not the same feeling in my opinion. With my band, things were stuck forever, and I would slime until I would force myself to vomit. With the sleeve, it's a little tightness in my sternum area, and then the piece of chicken moved down on it's own.

Eating with the sleeve is similar with the band in the early days. Chew, chew, chew, slow, slow, slow, for me, I wouldn't trade my sleeve for another band even if someone paid me.

No, I don't think it's the same at all. With the band it usually stays stuck until it comes back up. With the sleeve, it feels stuck for a few seconds, then you can feel it go down.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
