Am I too tight?

Recommended Posts

Had my 4th fill yesterday, it's hot here and I attempted to guzzle some Water. Quickly realized that was a bad move, felt stuck. It stayed down but I felt uncomfortable. This is the first time I've been unable to drink freely. In addition, I haven't been able to drink too much today. Tried a Naked drink and it was so hard to get it down. Am I finally at good restriction? Or am I too tight? I was able to get down small amounts of ice and water.

You could be too tight. I also seem to have this issue, but only when I am drinking to fast or if the drink is too cold. I would give it a day or two and see if you are still having the issue.

It sounds like you have found restriction! Too tight usually is when people cant keep anything down.

Be careful and go slow.

Thank you guys for responding. If this is restriction it's definitely going to take some getting use to. With the last 3 fills, I could still eat regular for the most part and still guzzle drinks. The only problematic food has been hard boiled eggs. It seems now I actually have to go slow and practice all those lap band eating rules. I'm still on liquids today, we shall see what happens the next couple days and I definitely am not hungry.

Wont really know until you progress to your solids. Start with something super soft to be safe. If you get stuck on first bite type of deal its def too tight. Sometimes your band will be less restrictive after a few days so stay safe w/ some fluids/shakes for now. But if in 2 days its still hard to get fluids down and impossible to get food down you'll need a partial unfill

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
