Oes it help to have a daily eating schedule? Maybe when and what. Im just thinking because i can be a mindless grazer so i was thinking a schedule might help.

What does anyone else do?

I make sure I eat within an hour of waking. I keep a high Protein snack with me just in case. lunch is no later than 12:30. dinner at 6:00. It helps me to stick to this schedule, otherwise I would graze.....

Brandi, great question. I have been wondering the same thing. Does everyone eat ever so many hours?

Figure out what works best for you. It may be a case of trial and error in the beginning. I log my food and exercise in myfitnesspal.com and prefer to log in advance so that I have planned what I will eat and do that day - makes it easier for me to say no to extras!

You might want to check with your surgeon regarding a band fill if u are grazing. U know sometimes I go to my old habit of grazing web I'm not actually hungry (that's my head talking) I am also learning to listen to my body and if I feel I'm grazing I know I need to have good foods ready, or get my fill. Hope thus helps I struggle at times.

Something my doc told me since I have this same prob. In short, it all has to do with metabolism, blood sugar, insulin, and signals to the liver to make or use fat. If you are eating constantly, the brain gets the wrong signals about what to do to give you energy, which can trigger a fat storing process when you want the opposite. Eating about 200 cal 5 to six times a day sends the right signals, so a schedule is better. Think of it as stoking a fire. Obviously, you want your 200 cals to be mostly Protein, so you can build muscle, etc.

This makes sense to me, but if you've been a grazer, it's harder to do than it looks.

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
