Tattoos...will they look like deflated shrinky dinks? LOL!

Recommended Posts

I have 3 tattoos and I was wondering what people's experiences were with weight loss and tat's. Do they look deformed because of the weight loss. I love my tat's and would hate to have them looking a hot mess. but if i have to choose between weight loss and tat's, sorry tat's you lose!

I am going to be banded soon and also have many tattoos...most in places that shouldn't stretch too much (I hope) but even if they do stretch there are always tattoo artists out there who are awesome and can find a way to fix it up even if it means changing it or going over it.

None of my tats have been affected, but I have them in spots where the skin doesn't stretch too much. Only one may be affected by a Tummy Tuck, but i don't really care if it is. I can easily change it

I have a butterfly above my ankle so I doubt it will change much. Although it is a barometer for shaving my legs when it turns into a moth. :D

I have 7 tattoos and they all but 1 look way better on my skinny body. They seem bigger now. Lol! But the four leaf clover near my heart on top of breast is not in good shape. Lol!

I used to have a tattoo right on my hip that I got when I was skinny a few years ago.

70 pounds later it didn't look so bad but I worried what it would look like when I got skinny again.

I lost my weight and the tattoo just went right back to the way it used to be. I was so excited, but then I had a Tummy Tuck and it was cut off.

I guess it depends where these tats are to whether they will look terrible or not. All my other 7 tats I was never worried about because they arent in areas where my skin has changed much.

If any of them look bad you can get them lasered off. I had a small tattoo above my left breast and from many years of tanning it got very faded. I even had the ink redone once. I decided I didn't like it anymore and had laser removal. Now you can't even tell where it was. I had the tat for about 20 years. (the cost for laser removal is expensive, they charge per square inch)

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
