.I can just about eat ANYTHING I want too....of course definitely not as much as I used to be able too but still....at 375 start im still 320 after 10 months.....i dont know whattttt toooo doooo.
I think the key here is "I can just about eat anything I want to..."

Really, if you're not losing, you can't continue to eat the same way you did before, even if you're eating less.

Something has to give.

What kind of eating plan does your doctor recommend?

ETA: Even at 9 cc. there is still leeway for more fill--even a fraction of a cc, at this point, might make a difference. Have you talked with your doctor about this?

do you eat alot of protien? that helps me stay fuller longer so i'm not so hungry. also if you will eat that first then move on to whatever else is on your plate you won't be hungry anymore. i would talk to my doctor and see if he/she might want you to go see a nutritonist to help you figure out what to eat. i eat pretty much the same thing as the rest of the family but if they are having burgers and fries i skip the fries and will have pork n Beans or something like that with mine.

It *should* be helping to curb your apetite. I have FINALLY reached a kind of restriction where I feel like I could eat almost anything only in a smaller portion (I could go out every once and a while and have a burger and fries and only eat a part of it (leaving a lot of the bread and most of the fries). But that just happened for me (I hope it lasts!)

however, there are some things that I could eat a LOT of- and they mostly include sweets-- ice cream, cake, etc. Those really soft, gooey things would just go down, so I have to avoid them. Are you getting too many slider foods in?

I'm glad you are getting a fill tomorrow. Hopefully it will help! Why don't you post some of your typical meals for a day, and maybe we can offer suggestions to make them more filling?

Josie - always - always eat Protein first!!!! It will fill you up and keep you full for longer periords of time and you will keep your HAIR!!! As for 9cc - you didn't say if you have 10 or 14cc band. If only 14, then 9 isn't so much. I'm going in for a fill this week too. I have a 10cc band and I'm already at 6cc, so I still have more to go. Last fill I had (3 months ago) I asked my doc what happens if I get to 10 and he said not to worry - 10 was very tight. I'm 9 months out and I've lost 65 lbs.

I like alot of the other banders also leave the bread behind as well as the fries. When my family wants mcdonalds, I eat a mcdouble..no fries and none of the bread. It keeps me full for a while although I am going for a fill on the 25th. I can eat more than I should, but stop...because of overeating, learning my lesson and throwing up. I may get hungrier earlier than three to four hours, but stick mostly to the Protein portion and less "smart" carbs. The more slider foods I eat, ie. cottage cheese, yogurt and such (sweets included) do nothing for me but make me hungrier in the long run. I have 5.5ccs on a 10cc lapband. I have lost 35lbs since April 29th (some of it gain/lose over and over) and as of yet, I have not started exercising...except more walking like at shops and parking lots. I eat what I make my family, but have made smarter choices for them also. If we have Pasta, it is smarter filled with Fiber (not the ww because we dont like the texture) and I may take 1/4c of it. I eat mostly my protein first. Try that.....solid protein stays in your pouch longer and also stick to the drinking rule, nothing 30 mins before -and I go 45-60 after eating as not to wash my food down...so to speak. Good luck! Let us know how that fill goes~!

Hey Jordan, i think youi might need a fill - to hit your sweet spot and help with the hunger.. BUT in saying that- 2 things to remember... 1. there is no surgery to help you with the head hunger... you are going to have to fight taht on your own and it can honestly make you feel starving. 2. even though the lapband will help with true hunger- it is still all about decisions - what you choose to eat and no fill or amount of restriction is going to stop you from eating the slidder foods... you have to make the decision to eliminate those from your diet until you can learn how to control them.

One rule that i think is most important is - every meal or everytime you are hungry- eat solid Proteins - then allow yourself to move on to other items.... you will fill up on the Proteins and not have room for the other stuff.... your head might tell you - you do-- but you will find out very soon you dont!

Good luck to you.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
