I was just wondering if any of you went through this after the LAP-BAND®. I was banded on June 17...I would think it would be enough time but maybe not I don't know. Also I was the one that posted the one about my calories being between 600-800 calories...more so closer to 800 mark. Would I still be feeling this way after a month. I'm exercising and getting my Protein requirements and taking the bariactric Vitamins to get all my vitamins in...just don't know what to think. I will contact my regular Dr and talk to him also. Any feedback appreciated:smile2:

600 calories sounds very low. I do 800-1100 calories a day. You might want to up your calorie intake just a bit. Do you have sleep apnea? Have you ever been tested for sleep apnea? Did you feel this way before surgery?

I limited my calories to 600-800 a day for the first 6 weeks after surgery. I was basically following my pre-op diet....three Protein shakes a day. I couldn't figure out why I was so tired and WASN'T LOSING WEIGHT!!! You would think that exercising and eating a small amount would make you lose the weight.....well not me!

I upped my caloric intake to 1400-1600 a day and have starting to lose well now. I spoke with my Endocrinologist and she said that my body was in starvation mode and holding onto whatever it could just to survive. I feel so much better with more calories and am actually back on track losing weight.

Every body is different. Some people do quite well with very low caloric intakes. I can't lose weight if I drop below 1200. Play around with what you eat. For two weeks try eating 1200 calories and see how you feel and if your body is responding better to the extra food.

It just might take some experimenting with your calories and types of food you eat. Good luck to you!

Thanks for the replies everyone.....I got on the scale and I think I lost a couple of pounds not sure....it all depends on the scale I use. But I did add some oatmeal to my diet this morning and I have to tell I sure feel much better.....I felt so tired I didn't have energy for nothing. This sure is a person to person thing...meaning we are all so different in how we lose our weight. I often wonder if it came from the starving I did in my younger day...almost anorexic. Sure nice to share our experiences...thanks again

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
