2nd Fill - No loss but No gain

Recommended Posts

ok guys,

usually i am really good keeping a positive attitude and seeing the glass half full, but today not so much. I had my second fill yesterday and no i dont know how much but i do know that the amount of the first fill was 3 cc. i just forgot to ask the second time around. i do know that he put in the amount he had in the needle and then put more in because the first amount wasnt enough. im just kind of upset that i have lost any. i am still at 247 and even though i havent gained i am seeing these posts about some who lose immediately and i want to be one of those. i mean my clothes are looser and i know to Celebrate the little things but i just needed to vent. i feel like i "fell off the wagon" so to speak. the nurse at my dr said that sometimes it takes 2-4 fills to find the sweet spot. and i am hoping i found it this time bc it feels different. im staying fuller longer. i am just in need of encouragement i guess from those who have been there or are there.

It's very frustrating, but it does get light-years easier when you approach and achieve restriction.

That said, you can be one of the ones who loses weight. It is hard, and it requires really restricting what you eat--and bumping up your exercise. But weight loss can occur before the sweet spot is reached.

I have fill #4 tomorrow. I have lost 45 pounds---and I don't yet have reliable restriction. It can be done.

I don't know how much this is going to help you but I care more about my body shape and size than what any scale can tell me. When you're walking around, can people see exactly how much you weigh? I don't think you're going to tattoo what the scale shows on your forehead. I'd be much happier in the knowledge that my clothes fit more loosely, I am wearing a smaller size, or that I look healthier when I see my reflection. Also that I can exercise longer or at a higher intensity. I hope this encourages you not to despair and continue becoming a healthier person.

Don't take what the scale reads as your only indication of success or failure. I wish you the best!

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
