I had the Sleeve done in 2013 I lost 90 pounds now I’ve almost gained it all back. I’m thinking of doing a revision but not sure what would be best for me. Has anyone gone through this and if so any success in your end result? I remember telling myself I will never let myself gain this weight back, because it wasn’t that easy to lose. I told myself all I have to do is exercise and eat small portions. But gradually it became easier and easier to get the food and the wine down and the exercise became non existent . I basically could eat anything. I totally blame myself because the food took over my life once again and it beat me. It’s a horrible feeling and I kick myself everyday!! Feeling defeated makes you turn to food even more. I have to get my head right . I’ve started exercising and dieting again. I will be going back to the surgeon to see what my options are.

Gastric sleeve revision
Wickedwinner replied to colcol's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Before you get a revision, try doing intermittent fasting. A friend that had the sleeve that wasn’t really successful has started IF with great results! She said it wasn’t that hard, especially with the restriction from the sleeve. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

I had lap band in 2013 but then in 2017 it slipped causing me to have severe reflux and in Nov 2017 I had it removed. My Dr said nothing about any revisions so I thought I could maintain my weight myself. Nope...I was right back to where I started. March 10, 2019 I had a Sleeve done by another Dr in which I was very happy with. I am really looking forward to the journey again in getting back to my happy weight of 170.

I am starting my pre opt diet tomorrow. It’s a full liquid diet. My doctor said I can have cream of wheat which I like. I made some today however I am guessing it needs to be a little more thinner. I can have chicken broth God help me. I brought sugar free popsicle, sugar free pudding and protein shakes. If I can’t make this cream of wheat thinner then I am not going to do it. I gain almost ten pounds since my last visit. I am determined to lose at least 12 pounds before surgery because I am determined not to cheat one day. I am moving this weekend and I am in school online so I am very busy. Mind over matter, I had the sleeve in 2015 and wasn’t successful. This revision is my last chance and plus I am older now, I need knee replacement surgery on both knees so you can only imagine how I walk. I know these two weeks are going to be hard but everyday that I am in pain reminds me of why I need this bypass surgery.

IBS and Fibromyalgia. Will gastric sleeve make things worse?
SparrowRise replied to Dawn306's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
To Dawn 306: I have FM,IBS, and RA. I thought I was crazy for a while because I would have horrible abdominal and pelvic/pubic area pain only to be told it was similar to the spasms FM caused during flares... just internal. It made it very difficult to urinate at times. Rushed to the hospital for vomiting and blue lips found a hernia pushing all internal organs into my chest. Enter gastric bypass surgery as the "best way to repair a hernia." Approx 3 mos later and I've yet to get abdominal pain under control. It's seems if I eat and a flare comes up...owww! My insides are cramping and spasming with food now stuck in the process. Timing when I can or can't eat what is STILL painful. If you have the option to lose weight another way... take it!!! I'm hopeful that someday I'll get better at this...it someday could be a lot of uncomfortable to painful days away! -

which surgery did you have? If it was gastric bypass, if this doesn't clear up soon, in spite of taking really small bites and chewing them to death, call your surgeon. It could be a stricture. That said, it does take some people longer to advance than others.. -
Hello there, how is your journey going? I had gastric bypass on January 25th, Surgery went well. However began to have these servere kidney stones that caused blockages and resulted in two more surgeries since. I suspect it has something to do with the large quantities of protein! Needless to say I’m moving along now. I am down 66 Lbs. every day gets a little better. Just trying to stay focused and remain on track. Hope your journey is going well!!!

What issues are you having with food? Nausea, vomiting? Its still early in your journey. If it makes you feel any better I'm 7 weeks post RNY gastric bypass and still on protein shakes only! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app -

Hi! Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! I'm 7 weeks out from my RNY gastric bypass. You don't need too much on the hospital. Chap stick, phone charger, tablet and charger if you have one. A pillow for the ride home. The bumps in the road will hurt. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

My dr recommended 3 months but basically said I could do what I wanted after 6 weeks. I waited three months and half a glass of wine and couldn’t drink anymore. It felt really weird going down and I didn’t care for the sensation. I’m 6 months out now and. Can tolerate wine (2 glass limit). I’ve tried some vodka drinks but they are hard because all the mixers I like are either carbonated or have too much sugar. One dirty martini gets me fairly buzzed but I’ve noticed that it goes away fairly quickly. It’s pretty weird. I have the sleeve, not bypass. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I am not sure if they would stretch the pouch out. I do k ow that liquid does not pass through the pouch of a sleeved patient like they do that of a bypass patient. Sleevers still have their pyloric valve intact.

Because of a lot of scar tissue and adhesions from previous surgery my sleeve to bypass took about 4 hours. I stayed 2 nights and recovery at home was 4 weeks. Although, I could have gone back to work sooner!! Good luck!

I Want To See Before & After Pics! (Cont'd)
Mandybobs replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Was sleeved in June2017, weight was 220lbs, didn’t manage to hit my GW due to severe reflux and the the passing of my father. Was converted to RNY bypass on the 30/04/1019, weight this morning was 168.5lbs so down 9lbs since my bypass, 30lbs to go. From UK size 22 to size 14. Still a work in progress 😀 -
Surgery Scheduled! A Bit Nervous!
Samirax6 replied to round2wi's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I did not have surgery with them but using Dr. Kuri in Mexico. He did my band and I have had it slip gained weight back and pretty much having a major esophageal issue with food going to my repository and larynx. The past 8 months has been torture to even understand what was going on with me since I kept being diagnosed with upper respiratory infections. Anyways I go in on May 29 for my revision. I am nervous for the fact of I am not sure of how much repair needs to be done to my esophagus and of pain, I think that is what is giving me anxiety. -

😜😜stomach pain..is it really just acid??😜😜
mousecat88 replied to Tracydawn's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
You shouldn't have any acid pain after bypass. Your symptoms youre describing sound just like when I had an ulcer. It hurt even when I drank water. Like a fire that stabbed me, lol. Be forceful and demand an endoscopy. My pain developed a week or so out from surgery.
