Thinkbruce I love your video and I must say I completely understand what you mean, I was in the same boat, eating healthy and exercising everyday while battling with my stomach's demand to be fed. Do you recall how many calories you would eat at each stage? How many to you take in now? I am currently 12 days post op and I'm taking little under 300 calories, I'm having a hard time taking my Protein, everything I've tried tastes disgusting to me. Thank you for sharing your success story with us. -
Update: Im home bored. Ive slept a lot, tried to drink but not really getting finished w my drinks. 3 days post op and Im ready to workout. Not to freak anyone out but after I came to after surgery, my FIRST thought was, "did I make the right decision bc i feel horrible" Well, it does get better w time. Just waiting for my Dr. to ok me moving around as I please, and im OUT !!! LOL

CONGRATS!!!!!! your ALMOST THERE!!!from my last surgeons visit at date scheduling I had 1 wk! I went thru an had all the emotions. its normal. hang in there! my first month was really hard. bc your body is going thru a massive shock! like "WHAT THE HE:: HAPPENED"! lol...I had to go thru all the classes there were 3 pre surgery classes an be released from a few drs...but the classes were soooo helpfull! it helped prepare us for what not to do how long not to do an what to expect..mentally, emotionally and physically. I stayed in hopsital 2 days..it was only supposed to be 1..but I couldnt sip on water so I said keep me another night hooked up..I didnt want to get dehydrated. if you find yourself in this situation speak up to your dr..Im glad I did..after surgery I woke up about 4 hrs later..got out of bed and tried to walk. it was actually the next morning about 5 when I got up an started walking. the hubs stayed with me which helped so much. then I walked every hr...I had esophagas spasms with every sip thats why I couldnt swallow...not everyone gets them.O had a hernia repaired..not all do. but I was ready to go home the evening of the second night. it was along month...but..after the first few days the chest pains gas pains started slowing down some..dont freak out if you gain after surgery!!! just the 2 days I was in there I gained 10 pds. it was fluid! it WILL come off fast. by the 7th day an my fist post op visit I dropped an unbelievable amount! then it was history...do as much as you possibly can to meet your requirments..(its doesnt happen)! it takes time to work up! I got to where I bought protien flavored shots it was easier to get the 60 grms in...its an all day job to get thru the first month..thats my experiance. others Iv heard breezed thru it! you hopfully will be one to breeze thru! just sharing a few things you might experiance. DON"T worry!! your body will do its job! I am soon to be 6 months postop an about to hit the 100 mark!! keep us posted!! its the best thing an I would def go thru it all over again! soooooo worth it!

Dec 29th sleevers ?
aHealthierMe121714 replied to aHealthierMe121714's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@queensleever05 I have only been allowed clear fluids and I was sleeved on Mon 12/29 but my Dr also makes his pts do the full 14 clear liquid pre op. I have to have 96 oz of water, crystal light, gatorade, broth, clear type soups & jello. It was HARD to even get 30 oz my 1st day home but managed each and every day to get better. It was probably bc of the long ride home and I was exhausted. I go to my 1st follow up on Tues and he will probably add protein drinks and POSSIBLY yogurt or cottage/ricotta cheese or something maybe. Doing everything he says though. What are you getting to eat? -

Worst "compliment" you have gotten since surgery
Big_Mama replied to Lacowgirl72's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I just got sleeved Monday, so no weight loss yet. My best friend and I had discussed the surgery before-hand, as we both wanted to get sleeved. Her insurance requires 3 months with a dietician, mine didn't, so needles to say I got mine first. After I came home from the hospital, she called to bs about other things then finally said "oh didn't you have surgery? How are you feeling? " as I was telling her she interrupted and said, "yeah, I don't think I'm doing it, I can lose the weight on my own, I don't want to cheat my way to weightloss!" What a sucker punch to the gut! I only said to her you do what you please, and continued the conversation... smh -
Absolutely no desire to eat or drink...
yungshi replied to yungshi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks yall! I definitely don't get in all my Protein. That's also a big problem for me. I'm supposed to be at 70-80 grams a day and on some days I may get 1 gram. I have Premier Protein but my no desire to drink really just doesn't help. I'm gonna get back on it though bc I don't want to be bald! -
Happy New Year!
wannaBthinsoon replied to wannaBthinsoon's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Happy NY My fun was having my hubs band give a live concert in my living room, while I fed everyone a pot of chili and drinks! My promise to myself is to be approved for the WLS and drop this damn weight this year! My inspiration are my beautiful grand children I want to run and play with, and my regrets are not taking out the insurance earlier to get this done before my 50's, So, Happiest of New Years to you and to everyone here!! Much love! -
Day 5 Post - Op - Struggling: Afib, Upset Stomach, Anxiety, and Scared.
gabrielle2014 replied to gabrielle2014's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Thanks everyone. I can't tell you how I appreciate the support. It's been an incredibly tough time - actually MUCH harder bc I can't eat to comfort myself. Which was the point of my surgery but I thought I wouldn't need it so soon. I'm doing much better now that I'm on soft foods. While I'm struggling with horrible potty issues (sorry tmi) and the anxiety and depression - at least physically I'm beginning to feel more normal. Not a lot of energy but I think I'm seeing improvement each day. I have an appt with my cardiologist on Monday and I think I will go to a specialist and ask about an ablation. The heart attack was incredibly scary to me. But if I had know it would have happened I probably wouldn't have had surgery. So in a sense I'm glad I didn't know it could happen before surgery. I do have a great therapist who has helped me through all of this and see her each week. God knows I need it! Thanks again so much. I don't get a ton of support from my family so it means the world to have it online. -

Kaela Winning posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi everyone! My name is Kaela, I am 21 years old, I am 165cm tall and I weigh in at 108kg. My heaviest weight was 115kg. I am booked in for gastric sleeve surgery on the 30th January. (NOT LONG!!! ) I am so excited!!! I have been overweight my whole life and have tried many diets and have failed and I am fed up! I feel like my weight keeps me down, I never want to do anything, I just want to stay at home and hide from the world. Can't wait to live my life to the fullest!!!! SO MUCH EXCITEMENT I have having my surgery done by Dr. Victor Liew on the Gold coast. I have heard he is fantastic and he ALSO does not charge!!!! All my fees are being covered by my private medical, my out of pocket expenses will be less than $1000. He believes it is wrong to charge extra as he would rather the patient spend it on supplements, personal trainer, equipment etc. He is such a lovely surgeon! I only enquired about it yesterday after getting a referral from my gp and I am ALREADY booked in after a phone call with surgeon Victor Liew! Can't wait to share my journey with you all and see your journey as well! -

Sorry I haven't posted. My hands have hurt bc of drips. In surgery by 930 Min morn, in recovery by 1130 in room by 1245 and up peeing and walking at 130. Never had to have pain meds until after 3 hr ride home. It KILLED me. Everything has been good except I cant get the required 96 oz of liquid in per day. Today is day 1 and I have managed 37 so far. I will do what I can today and try harder tomorrow. I have rested a good bit today and made sure to get my walks in so I don't get blood clots. Not hungry at all. Been a great thing. No nasty side effects yet either. Keep a cold damp cloth around my neck to make sure I don't get any nauseausness. So far so food. Hope everyone is doing well! Great to be on the sleeved side! Just keep repeating each day what a fellow sleeved friend told me, "tomorrow will be better than today." She is 7 mos out and 86# down and eating whatever. Hey - we got this! . -
@@Elode I agree if we know they answer why can't we help out no matter what room. And I have question on some things that I will not post in the powder room bc all u hear there is them saying they can't keep guys hands off them.. Umm hello I wanna know when that comes back.. when do u get the mood back after surgery? Guys seems to know on that more then in the powder room

Worst "compliment" you have gotten since surgery
Miss Mac replied to Lacowgirl72's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I typed SNARKY in the search bar, and hit the drop-down arrow and clicked on forums. It brought up several threads on comebacks. My favorite is "Excuse me, but I see that you still have a little bit of BS on your lips." -
Worst "compliment" you have gotten since surgery
BLERDgirl replied to Lacowgirl72's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
It still boils down to context for me. I am not easily offended, nor to I spend my time worrying what people are thinking of me. There are some people, like the old ladies in my congregation who have no filter and I just grin and smile because I know anything is likely to fall out their heads. I try to practice tact so yes, there are occasions where I will hold my tongue if I don't have anything nice to say. I also know the difference between friends and acquaintances and I have a pretty decent BS meter. My friends I confide in. We can be brutally honest with each other. I not only want that from them, it's expected. You need to have good friends who check you. An acquaintance does not have those rights. Lastly there is a difference between honesty and sarcasm or shade. Most importantly I like me. I have always liked me and thought I was cute. Not cute for a fat girl but cute period. So nope, not gonna let someone try to make me feel bad about myself. I think it's okay to disagree here. There are a zillion situations in which this could be okay and just as many where it wouldn't be. -

I have only told my mother. My husband doesn't even know, he knows I am having surgery in April or May on my stomach but assumes it's for my ulcers. I haven't lied I just don't go into details. I don't have anyone in my family or friends that would be supportive except my mother bc she went threw the same struggles and had gastric bypass 14 years ago. -

Oh I have no clue! Helpful huh?! I have BCBS fed and I think it's a case by case issue. You can always call your customer service and ask them. -
The night was OK. I only took pain medication one time. My tummy feels like I did 2000 scrunches without stopping and with stretching before hand. Also I didn't know that with all sleeve surgeries they will put a draining tube. It drains blood and intusions? I'm not sure what that means. When I came out anastasia I was in pain Alot! But then I am given pain medication demeral every 4 hours and Darvocet every 6. It makes drowsy. I have walked about 4 times. I have urinated about 6 times. No Bm yet and no gas, but burping. I don't have much gas pain in the shoulders. I'm glad bc it was really bad with the Lapland. I will go home this morning???? so ready for a shower I feel ????????????????????:-/ I. Will keep u all updated.
