That is fantastic. I am so sorry to read about your past relationship. But the best word in that is WAS . You are right to feel that you should be shown nothing but respect and love. I think there's a complicated history of hair care and black women. Have you seen the documentary "Good Hair" by Chris Rock? It's a very funny, but accurate portrayal of African-American women and the hair care industry. I began wearing my hair naturally (partially) due to having extreme night-sweats. I'd roll my hair at night, only to have soaking wet hair in the morning. And while I love wearing my hair naturally, there are many African-American who would never consider doing so. Seems like self-esteem issues are connected to hair... A little more complicated than it appears, I think,

I am not a black woman, but I believe what you are saying transends the color barrier. You are right on all your points and I am sure you are an amazing speaker- would love to hear you. Your view reminded me of a lot of things that I had forgotten or just overlooked for a while.
I was lucky, my parents were wondeful and raised me well. But once I started school I was picked on horribly for not having fancy clothes, for not being as thin as others, then for being all out fat and then for glasses, then for being smart- the list goes on. I was an adult before I started to gain self esteem and it was because I over heard someone describe me. The person speaking was a former teacher of mine, he said that girl is as weak as a kitten so timid and shy, yet her dad is one of the most well spoken, repected and like law enforment officers in the county. I was shocked, that was what people thought of me. I made of my mind right then that this kitten was going to grow up into a lioness- and I have and still am.
Keep speaking, keep preaching- all of us no matter our race, age, sex we need to hear these things you are saying. You are Awesome and I appreciate this post greatly.

Thank you-done. My bra size did change and my panties are also smaller. Where I live I went to the outlet stores, Wrentham,MA and had them measure me.

Highly recommend Victoria Secret, they do a great job of making sure you find the right bra that fits and looks good under your cloths and I go free panties to. I had to laugh though, the girl asked me what kind did I want. I must have had a reallly odd look on face and she said do you want cheekies or hipsters. I made the mistake of asking the difference, well I to say the least at 57 I took the hipsters. Even though I am little know still too much cheek to hang our. lol

LOL, I just read this 1 year and 1 month later....I happy to say that not only am I my surgeon's star patient, That I'm just out of the 10-12 pants .Down 73 pounds and pround of every one of them. Back then 190lbs seemed so far away and now it's just around the corner. Heck I may change that goal to 180... just because I know I can do it. Good Luck Everyone.
