  1. The sleeve has been one of the best decisions of my life! The sleeve will help you get control over your food issues so that you can lose the weight and keep it off. I know it is a big decision to have the surgery, but it is so worth it. I never felt full until I had the sleeve. It is so nice to know that I have this tool to help me for the rest of my life. I completely recommed the sleeve!!! Good luck on your journey.
  2. Of course we will support you! I think it is great for us to be there for each other. I wanted to thank you for sharing this. Today was NOT a good day for me since I was around some amazing food at my inlaws. I was snacking all day and I ate way too much. Seeing this is helping ME get back on track too. I know you can do this! Congrats on your baby boy!
  3. I had my revision a year ago. I LOVE my sleeve because it works. The band never did. Congrats!

    Leaving Soon!

Yay! The time is going to fly by! Congrats.
  5. Most times I just order a la carte items when I go out to eat. Every once in a while I will order a full meal and just eat a few bites. Then I will just take the rest home. Some waiters seem to have a huge promblem with this and think something is wrong with the food. Most of the time I don't feel like going into the whole weight loss surgery story with the waiter. Today I had the waiter keep asking if everything was okay and if I wanted something else because I couldn't finish my food. What do you do in this situation? I used to tell the waiter I had surgery, but lately I just don't feel like I should have to. Just curious how others deal with this issue.
  6. It sounds like you may be anemic. I felt dizzy when my iron was low. Try to get in as much protein as possible and make sure to take your vitamins. Feel better soon!
  7. Hi VST family, It's hard to believe that a year ago I had a revision from the band to the sleeve. I never could have imagined how amazing life would be after the pain I went through with the band. The sleeve has given me restriction, health, and happiness. I finally feel like myself. I have lost a total of 91 pounds in the past year with the sleeve and 133 pounds total with both surgeries. I weigh in at 153. I am four pounds from a normal weight. I was hoping to be at a normal BMI by my surgiversary today, but my body didn't cooperate. LOL I WILL get there though! My ultimate goal is to weigh 143, which is half of where I started on my journey with the lapband over four years ago. I do have pretty bad hanging skin issues on my stomach, which I am hoping to one day correct. Other than that, life is great. It is so nice to have control over my food issues. Shopping is so much fun! People tell me I am like an entirely different person. I guess it is true. I am living life now, instead of being depressed because of my size. I am so thankful to all the wonderful friends I have met here. I would never have had the courage to have my revision if it weren't the support of all my sleeve sisters and brothers here. I love you all and I also LOVE my sleeve!

    Major Stall.... Ugh!

It is normal to hit stalls. I think just about everyone hits some sort of stall around three weeks. I had a huge stall in November at 11 months post op. The scale didn't go down, but everyone kept asking me if I had lost more weight. I was losing inches. Just keep following the rules and the scale will drop again.
  11. I remember being very scared before surgery when I would think about having most of my stomach cut out. At the same time, I knew I couldn't live my life morbidly obese anymore. Sure there are risks, but life is full of them. You take a risk every time you get in your car and drive. The sleeve complication rate is very low. Most people love the sleeve and do very well after surgery. The sleeve has completely changed my life. I think the risks are worth it. Obesity has so many negative risks both medically and emotionally. I think you should discuss your concerns with your doctor. If you have a good surgeon and follow the pre and post op rules, you will put the odds in your favor. I know there is a lot to consider with the surgery, but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I love being able to live my life!

    I Am Transformed

    You are doing amazing! Congrats!
  13. I am glad Dr. Oz is supporting surgery. Awhile back, he had some shows that seemed to not support it. I remember one show where some weight loss surgery patients were on and they were saying that all they could eat was broth and yogurt. It seemed like he was trying to make people not want the surgery by implying you would never be able to eat real food again. I am so glad I had surgery. I tell anyone that asks me about it that I had the sleeve. I really feel the sleeve is a true answer to obesity. I still can't believe how much it has changed my life in a year.
  14. Welcome. This forum is an amazing source of support and we are so excited to have you here! I am sorry about your loss, yet I am so happy about your new start with the sleeve. The drain was very painful for me too when they took it out. I look forward to hearing about your journey. It sounds like you are already off to a great start!
  15. Congrats on getting your date! You will go through so many sizes during this journey. Goodwill will be your best friend. LOL
  16. I hear a lot of good things about Dr. Sauceda. I am so glad things went well for you! I will look into him as I really need a tummy tuck.

    Got A Date

The sleeve works! Don't worry! It's amazing. I know it works because I also had the band, which was a joke. Your life is about to change!!! Yay!

    Food Porn ( Graphic)

Love this!!! I miss eating chips and salsa/ green sauce. The fried chips make me feel sick still at a year out. I used to be able to eat an entire basket by myself.
  19. I had a very similar glitch happen to me. It was so frustrating! Just know that the sleeve is worth waiting for. You can take this time to mentally prepare for your journey. While I was waiting, I watched Youtube videos of sleeve journeys to help me pass the time. I know it's hard to wait, but all good things in life are...Hugs!
  20. I started eating about five months out or so. Just beware! It is a slider food. I can eat lots of it at once and so I really have to be careful. I only allow myself to eat the 100 calorie bags.

    Doubting Myself

I do have excess skin, but it is still all worth it. I wear Spanx to help. I will take my health and energy over saggy skin any day.
  22. Thanks everyone! I really do love this forum.
