BlaqBeary got a reaction from Soexcited in Kaiser and Plastic Surgery Options
    Hello
Although Dr. Taller was my surgeon, Dr. Tanaka released me to go home, because my surgeon was in emergency surgery. You are correct about Dr. Tanaka. He comes off as no-nonsense, but is very funny and cares about the patient. Dr. Taller is the best also. Very informative and a cutie, LOL.

nteractive video presentation on corset trunkplasty surgerytrunkplastyWLS patients may soon have more options for dealing with excess skin after weight loss."Body contouring surgery has evolved rapidly in recent years,? says Dr. Alexander Moya, Director of the Center for Weight Loss Body Contouring and Assistant Director of the Geisinger Center for Aesthetics and Cosmetic Surgery at Geisinger Medical Center (GMC), in Pennsylvania.Dr. Moya has developed a new procedure to help remove excess skin from the abdominal region. Known as corset trunkplasty, the procedure provides comprehensive contouring of the abdominal region and waistline and can accomplish in one surgery what used to take multiple operations. The procedure is performed with Harmonic technology developed by Ethicon Endo-Surgery, which decreases blood loss and injury to the surrounding tissue.Dr. Moya will be presenting an interactive trunkplasty video to the other plastic surgeons at the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery's annual Aesthetic Meeting in April 2010. BlaqBeary got a reaction from Webtrekker in Kaiser, Has Anyone Has Plastic Surgery Through
    Hello Ladies
There are so many conflicting responses to this particular subject. I am 2 days post-op from having a panniculectomy (you can google). After bariatric surgery Kaiser will perform a Panniculectomy and Breast reduction for free. All your PCP has to do is send a referral to the Plastic surgery dept. I'm in So Cal/Downey and because I previously had a BR some years ago the same surgeon did my Panniculectomy. I am very happy with the result and am flatter than I thought I would be.

    Hey Everyone!!!!!
I made it through. Surgery was a success. I am 2 days post-op and feeling really good. Tired from the anesthesia and still swollen of course. Only having the panniculectomy procedure, I am so surprised of how much flatter I am. Its exciting though.
I was incisioned hip to hip and bottom of naval to the pubic hairline. I had no pain, but soreness I can feel with every movement.
If you decide to have this surgery be sure to have someone with you. You will need it.
Ohhh!!! And there was 13lbs of fat and skin taken. So along with the excitement I am also 13lbs lighter.

I went to post-op today and my drains were taken out. Still swollen, Feeling even better today. Walked a lil faster, but took my time. Doctor says okay to exercise daily, but add on 5 minutes each day. Drink plenty of Water. No stitches were removed because their dissolvable.

Reading this just makes me so thankful. I wish you the best and hope you find peace with your body. I know that I was at 250 now at 175 and had no issues with stretch marks, loose skin and starting to see my six pack and bicep and tricep muscle. Not bragging or anything but some people have many different issues after surger. Today I feel blessed and I am wishing blessings to you always.

I read most of the responses:
I wouldn't indulge in conversation about my weightloss whether it came from me or not. Patient & doctor confidentiality is all I need. Whether FMLA or insurance claim form states the procedure(s) or not, where is the moral decency from HR if this is how information was leaked.
As for the sake of talkers----------LET THEM. While 'Susie' is huddling and whispering in the corner to co-workers I hope they have enough room to listen to her jealous words. Keep doing what you for you.
I have this same issue. And trust, it does not bother me one bit. It makes me stronger. Even more, I don't speak to these persons anyway; but glad I'm thought of. Boyyyy!!! I can't wait to go back to work in December from having the panniculectomy. I see swollen tongues and ears already, lololol. Will keep you posted.
    Good losing to you all

All I can say is been there, done that. Yes, it hurts like hell and a feeling like you've given up. We all have weak moments. Remember, 80% of our stomachs has been cut out of our bodies. It's a tool to keep us from gorging ourselves with food, not what actually we put in it. Your mind is in control of your actions. You have the power to walk away. Easier said than done, huh? I've had the topping of pizza, but not the bread. I can no longer eat bread anyway. This is good for me, because before VSG, I loved dinner rolls, cornbread and homemade bread my family makes at holiday time. So, glad I cannot eat no longer, it would be devastating. But be strong. In the end, it will be all worth it and you'll laugh at this day as one of your memories.

This is the discretion of the surgeon, I'm sure. Although I lost about 12lbs by the end of the options class, he told me to not gain anything before surgery or he would re-schedule. I lost 9 more pounds by the date of pre-op, which was the day before surgery. I had to be on liquid the whole day before surgery and when I was weighed again the next morning I had lost another 6lbs. So, I'm thinking, as long as you do not gain, you should be okay.
