    18.5 pounds lost

Hi Velvet It was a choice. However, when my surgeon completed disability forms, he put the date to 4-6 weeks and I chose to stay off six weeks. It was worth it to me because it gave me a chance to get use to the changes I would go thru with eating and exercising. More so, yes I could have gone back in two -three weeks. Enjoy whatever time you while you're recovering. Congrats!!!! to you and your sister.
  3. Ok, I returned to work last week. I did really well. But this week I am overly hungry. It seems every hour and half I am starving. I drink a lot of water, but it seems I am missing something. Should I be hungry as if I have not eaten in days.

    18.5 pounds lost

I'm the same as you. I keep it to once a week. Mondays only. Now today I was up two pounds. I am okay with that because of the edema. I did speak with the nurse practitioner today and she told me to give the edema another month when I see her and she'll see about diuretics after speaking with my PCP. I agreed. I do not have high blood pressure. She says I am losing even with the edema and really shouldn't be alarmed. Just to keep her posted if any major changes. Also, my clothes are getting looser and looser. I never pulled my pants up so many times today, lololol. Even co-workers were noticing and laughing. It was hilarious. I have many supporters at work. Some co-workers has lost weight while I was gone (10-20lbs). We're rooting each other.

    18.5 pounds lost

Thank you and Yes, this is a great idea I will weigh myself tomorrow. I want to try and lose at least 10 pounds before my birthday on the 19th. I'm not forcing the lost. Any number is good. I still have lower extremity edema, but not as much as before surgery. The edema usually add on 10 pounds for me. And just to see the numbers go down on the scale, I know I am beating edema. Because to me that means 20lbs in my mind, but 10 on the scale. Oh and the scale was in the supply room before surgery; I just forgot about it when I saw it putting Protein shake in the fridge.

    18.5 pounds lost

Hello All Okay, I have returned to work after six weeks, and guess what? There is now a scale in the supply room. WHYYYYYYYYYYY???!!!!! hahahahaha. Anyway, yes, I did step on it, lol. Monday I lost another 6.9lbs in a week. I am now 286.6, down from 312 surgery date. What a wonderful feeling. I do understand that all scales are different. Still cannot wait til appointment with Kaiser next month.

I chose not to have a scale at home because I don't want to have different emotions on a daily basis. I feel as though I would be whipping myself to misery and going backwards thinking this is not working for me. I can feel and see a difference anyway. That's all I need.

  14. CONGRATS to you on your total weight loss....so far
  15. I am down 18.5 pounds and sooooo very ecstatic with my progress. Not as fast as others, but I am me. Yesterday I went to meet with Ana at Kaiser Bellflowers' satellite office and when I got on the scale and it read 293.5, it took so much out of me not to run down the hall screaming of joy. To see 293 to me is I will never see 300's again. I don't have a scale at home, which is wonde...

    February 2011 - Sleevers

Sooooo, how is everyone doing? What are the negatives and positives you're going through?
  17. My surgery was 5 weeks ago, and I do notice a change in my body; the weight and inches that has come off, but I am truly not happy. I need to implement exercise fast. I did mention everything to the surgeon and he just said I am doing great. Hmmmmm.

  18. Hi All

Well as of Last week Thursday I weighed in at losing only 12lbs. A lot of this is my fault. Although I semi followed the plan---going back and forth between KAiser and PB---I have not exercised. I have just been down all this time after surgery. I go back to work in a week and I feel I look the same as when I left. Not a good feeling.

  19. Hey Sleeve

Not too good. I have an appt tomorrow with the surgeons. Im sort of disappointed at the same time. My surgeon had so many other appts that I am just seeing someone tmrw (not my surgeon) in Anaheim. I was told to begin the diet given to me and found out the other day from Kaiser that I should follow their paln at www.kp.org/misg. So I feel I am on the right track now. I dont thin...

    No energy

I also have no energy. I cannot exercise because I feel tired all the time. I am doing everything I need to and I can't seem to get it together. I cried so much yesterday, because I feel as though I'm not proving to myself I can do this. I cannot let myself down.

    Anyone on vitamins?

I went to Target and bought VitaFusion or Nutrition Now chewables for the mere fraction of the cost (7-12 bucks). About 70 chewables in each bottle.
  22. I am feeling really good. Today seemed to be hard though. I am thinking too much about spinach salad with grilled chicken, avocados and a very good tasty dressing. I am wrong for feeling this way? However, I would not dare eat this. I am also feeling guilty, because I have not walked or exercised. I don't feel up to it now. Maybe I will start Sunday.

  23. Hello to Everyone My surgery was Feb. 18th and discharged the 21st. Home at 1230pm. Today I am truly happy with the decision I've made to be a more healthier woman. I have taken control of my life. The surgery was a success. I hardly had any pain; a lil discomfort, yes, but no pain. I begin a new journey for the rest of my life and give thanks to God and to Dr. Taller at Pacific Bariatric, San Diego and the pre-op team, pre-surgical & surgical team and nurses on the 7th floor at Scripps Mercy Hospital. You all ROCK.
