  1. I just hit 179.5. I'm so HAPPY. Doing the happy dance. I've now lost 30 lbs since surgery and 40 overall. Not to bask in the 170 glory for long. Here I come 160s, move over and make room.

  2. Awesome David. You rock! I just hit 179,5. I'm so HAPPY. Doing the happy dance. I've now lost 30 lbs since surgery and 40 overall. Not to bask in the 170 glory for long. Here I come 160s, move over and make room.
  3. Hi all. I'm down to 181.5. 2 more pounds to the 170s. I'm so happy. I've lost 27,5 lbs since surgery on january 5th. My tummy is handling different foods and I'm glad. Gives more variety. Doing Zumba and Turbo Fire for exercise. Love them both. Lisa

    *7* Truths Post-Op

Couple more for me: I drank coffee everyday before. I don't drink even decaf and DON'T MISS IT. I stay up later it seems and sleep amazing during the night. No more sleep apnea. My blood pressure is lowest it's been in forever and I'm going to see if I can go off the meds. I don't crave sweets and don't like super sweet things anymore. I don't crave salty either. I've gone from an 18 to 14 in 5 weeks.

    *7* Truths Post-Op

I relate to all of those. Wow. 1) My once love of Spanish rice is gone. I hate it. 2) eggs gag me. I've been trying all different ways to cook them and ugh. 3) Don't take two laxatives to make yourself regular. OMG, the next day is a nightmare. 4) I love exercise more then ever...especially in the form of Zumba or kickboxing or walking. 5) this newfound love of myself is exhilarating. Plus all of yours above

    Today is my SURGIVERSARY!!!

Congratuations. What an accomplishment. Reading what your worries were at the beginning reminds me of my own insecurities. I'm looking forward to one year. I was sleeved January 5th. I've lost 25.5 lbs since surgery. I'm stuck at 184 now. Sometimes when I am in a stall, I worry that that is IT! And that I won't lose anymore. You give me hope.

    Zumba anyone?

I just went to my first Zumba class last night. Loved it. Being married to a Latino, I know the moves already because we love to dance. Just so fun to dance it up Latin style. I just started Turbo Fire with Chalene Johnson today too. LOVE IT> That's cardio kickboxing and I'm in love with the program. Got it on eBay for $50 for 15 dvd set - all brand new.

    Research studies

yeah the research study at South San Francisco is just taking pics at the beginning and report our progress. I haven't rec'd any paperwork on it. No drugs or anything like that. I think they're just collecting data so they have data for the future and the success of the sleeve surgery.

    No more CPAP!

PS: My hubby said that since I've lost 21 lbs in 3 1/2 weeks, I don't snore anymore either.

    No more CPAP!

I found out I needed a CPAP machine when they did a sleep apnea test on me. I have mild obstructive sleep disorder. However, since they ordered my machine and my insurance covered it and I have one very expensive machine now, I don't use it. Slap my wrists. I hate the thing. The total face thing made me feel like I had an alien on my face. So unattractive to your mate, too. Then I did the nose pillow things and that was better, but I just hate the darn thing. So I haven't been using it. Didn't use it in the hospital either. I should just sell the dumb thing on eBay. Shhh, don't tell my doctor.

    Research studies

Yep I signed up with my hospital to be in a research study. I'm ok with it. I think it's a great idea.
  12. Hi everyone. I'm now 3 weeks and 5 days out from surgery day. I'm down 21 lbs. I'm so excited. I was at a stall for a week I think. I went on vacation from Thursday - Monday and weighed myself this morning. Was very pleased that I'm down another few pounds. So I've lost 31 since September. I'm still drinking 2 costco protein shakes a day. I'ts been hard getting the protein in just eating food. I'm afraid of overeating. Or not getting in enough by eating I should say. Dr. Le had told me to try a new food every few days. I'm able to eat chicken (dark meat) and fish. Cheese. anyway, how's everyone else doing?
  13. 188!!!!!! My stall is broken for now and I'm in the 180s. Woo hoo.

    One Year Out

Thanks so much for that amazing post. 3 weeks after surgery and I'm struggling so much with head hunger. I'm afraid of eating too much and stretching my new tummy out. I've been at a stall since Saturday and that has depressed me somewhat. I will read your posts and your feelings and see if that helps me get through this hard time right now. I love my sleeve. I'm just new to it and trying so hard to make sure I make it work. That is what I'm worried about too. That I will fail and everyone who voices their opinions will be right. Sigh.
  15. Ask your dietician because it's not a significant source of protein like other protein shakes.
  16. LisaaaLisaaa

    premier protein shake

I drink those too. Kaiser South San Francisco says they are fine to drink. I haven't had any issues with stomach pains or what-have-you from two different types of protein. I never noticed that before.

    Unjury Protein Powder

I love love love the Unjury Chicken soup. I mixed it with mashed potatoes and it was so good. I couldn't finish all the potatoes, but will work on it later so I can get the whole 21 g of protein that are in one scoop. I haven't tried the vanilla or chocolate yet. I ran out of skim Lactaid.

Haven't lost a pound on my diet

I started at 219.2 in September. He told me to lose 10 lbs. I lost 9.2 by January 5th when my surgery date was. He still did it.
  19. Stacey, that's very true. Thanks. I took measurements today. I've rec'd numerous comments about me losing weight. When I look in the mirror, I see a fat girl. But others are seeing the fat girl disappear. I'm sure someday I'll see a smaller girl.

Co worker 3 yrs out and looking great!

thanks for sharing. Very nice to know there is success down the road. I'm at 3 weeks out tomorrow. Feeling great. Trying to break a stall. But TOM is coming soon.
  21. Stacey, glad you are doing so fabulous. I will be at week 3 tomorrow. I've been at a stall since Saturday. Feels like I'm hungry a lot. I'm dealing with the head hunger issue. Just trying to make good choices. Right now I feel like if I don't stick to stage 2 of the diet, that I will fail and won't get in enough protein. Drinking 2 proteins shakes a day gets the protein in a lot easier for me. But then it doesn't help the head hunger at all. And some things I THINK I want, but when I try them, I hate them....as if my tastes have changed. I went cold turkey off coffee. My last cup was 2 days before surgery. Didn't get a headache because I was already in pain and on pain meds during surgery. ha ha. Anyway, I hope at week 9 I am still not at 17.5 lbs lost. I hope it's more like 30-35. I need to step up my activity. Getting a few DVDS to I can workout instead of just walk.
  22. I'm at the dreaded "3 week stall" only I'm two days before the 3 weeks. But I'm not complaining. I'm down 17.5 lbs since surgery and people are noticing. I'm excited. But it's good to know I am not alone with the stall.
  23. does anyone know of any support groups in Santa Rosa or nearby?

Are there any SIZE Goal sleevers out there?

I would love to be a size 8. I don't remember ever being an 8. I'd be soooo happy.
