  1. Okay so I have been meaning to post a before and after pic once I hit onederland and my hubby keeps saying that he is going to do a picture that is a side by side comparison but he is procrastinating!!! So I decided just to do it myself in 2 pics, one is just before surgery and the other was taken this past Friday in my work bathroom lol I have gone from a 22/24 to a 14/16 in 18 weeks and couldn't be happier!!!

    Heartburn?

I'm 14 months out and still have to take a PPI, tried to stop taking it several times but by day 3 the burning is back in full swing. It all depends on the person, some get off of it about 6 months out, some longer, it varies.
  3. I had my surgery Dec. 27th, 2010 and have lost a good 120 lbs
  4. you look amazing! congrats skinny!

  7. Ok, soooooo I'm a 10 month post sleever. Yes I have lost a bunch of hair, yes I take a whole lot of Biotin everyday and yes some of my hair is growing back, but......... darned if the rest of my head of hair has just about stopped growing. So to get my point across, back in May maybe or maybe it was even April (when my hair was starting to shed) I got it trimmed above my shoulders in a cute medium length wedge..... and guess what.... it's been what 5-6 months since then and it's grown about 1/2 inch.... grrrrrrrrr I take 2 Flinstone Vitamins, Vit D, Vit C, Biotin, Calcium and B12 daily. I drink at least 60 oz of Water and eat a good 80 grams of Protein daily. ............. any suggestions to help my stubborn hair to grow? Thanks - Tiffany
  8. Hi Rootman thanks for your response! I'm not worried about the hair I have lost, I knew it was going to happen and the hair loss is slowing down. My deal is trying to get the hair I have left to actually grow....

  12. I had my surgery about 10 months ago and the only Protein thing I could tolerate for the first 6 months was a drink called Lean Body - 40 grams of protein. It's delicious. http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=ZF-2071&sourceType=cs&source=FG&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=ZF-2071 At 6 months out I found a Protein Bar that I like and its called Pure Protein - 20 grams of protein. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Us-Nutrition-High-Protein-Bar-Chocolate-Deluxe-Pure-Protein-10.58-oz/10423029

  14. I'm almost 10 months out and I'm just like Mini-me. I can eat more than what I did at 6 month BUT I still stick with 60-80 grams of Protein and about 60 oz of Water.... I'm losing around 5-8 lbs a month now - i do have some stalls but if I exercise more and up my protein then the scale will go down I am only 13lbs away from goal and I'm 115lbs down from surgery. Good luck in your journey!
  15. Congrats Rebel!!!!!!! yay, HAPPY DANCE!

    scared to death

Having this surgery won't stop you from holding your kiddos. Yes, you can't pick them up for 6 weeks but it doesn't stop you from holding them. I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old. My 2 year old was 18 months when I had my surgery and she's an absolute cuddle-bug, so to work around me not able to pick her up my hubby would do the lifting. He would pick her up and set her on me when i would be sitting in our recliner and when i would need to get up, he would pick her up again. Or better yet, I would sit on the floor and they would come and sit in my lap. I just made sure they weren't too hyper when I had them on me in case they wanted to push on my belly. I think taking a long walk with your fury kleenex is wonderful idea!!!

    scared to death

Oh sweetheart, I know exactly how you are feeling and I was the same way the day before surgery. Couldn't turn off my water-works!!!! I cried everywhere and on a drop of a dime. I did the same thing as you, I came on here and expressed it the same way you did and one of the best suggestions I got was to take a nice long hot bath while listening to some great music and then in the evening spent the whole night with my kiddos. It was great and relaxed my nerves. You will do wonderful tomorrow!!!

    Im Pregnant!!!

    CONGRATS!!!!!! Happy Dance
  19. I have lost a total of 105lbs now. My surgery was on 12/27/10 and I lost 100 just outside of my 6 month marker. My weight loss has slowed down now but I am still losing inches! I stayed pretty much within the guidelines of keeping up with my 60 grams of Protein a day and making sure i get in atleast 50 ounces of Water. Yes, I eat carbs, yes, I have Snacks, I can eat everything I use to but in moderation! I have found that the more carbs you eat, the more carbs you will crave. It's a viscous cycle. I work out 3-4 times a week. I either get on the elliptical for 30 minutes, take a 3-4 mile fast paced walk/run, yoga on Wednesdays with friends or do at home pilates on the tv. I use over the door exercise bands too. I try not to over do it and have found that since losing the weight, working out feels so much better. Overall, is there anything I would change? Nope! I would do everything again in a heartbeat! Having my sleeve was the best thing I could have done for myself. I am so much happier inside and out. Good luck sweetheart!!! - Tiffany
  20. Yeah I'm trying to get over a summer cold myself - so not fun... not to mention both my girls have it too. but hey at least today my skin doesn't hurt lol - thanks skinny mini, i finally hit my 100 lbs lost earlier this month and it's now starting to get hard to lose the remaining 30lbs to get at goal. people think im crazy to want to lose more but i won't be sated until i get into my old size 8s!

  21. june13sleever, you are just too funny!!!! I know exactly what you mean on continuously eating Protein. yesterday I ate: Breakfast: cheese stick (7g protein) with coffee Snack: yoplait greek yogurt (14g protein) Lunch: chicken noodle Soup (the whole can over a hour in a half) (14g protein) Snack: ham & gravy baby food (8g of protein) Dinner: 4 oz of chicken & spinach (27g protein) Desert: skinny cow mini - low fat fudge pop (1 protein) Drink: 64 oz of crystal light ice tea
  22. hey skinny-mini how's it going?

  23. I'm sorry Apple! I hate when that happens! I'm 7 months out and I've had that same problem from time to time. I will eat something, it will feel fine for about 10 minutes then wham! Uncomfortable! Usually it happens if I eat chicken and green Beans... and I've found it's the green beans that pushed me too far.
  24. Congrats!!! ***Happy Dance***

My doctor told me to just use a antibacterial body wash. I used Dial and had no problems.
