I have been off track for a few months now and trying to get back on. My Mom died suddenly in December, and that was all I needed it seems, to go right back to the old habits. I know that I have been eating entirely to much and the wrong things. The past couple of weeks, I have tried to straighten myself out and watch what I eat,I can still eat more than the recommended 4 ounces at each meal, but have lost 6 pounds though. Does this mean it is time for a fill? I have had 2 fills since having my surgery last August, both times, the first day was all liquids and the second day I could eat the 4 ounces and feel full but within just a couple of days I was eating more than that. For those of you that have reached their "sweet spot", does that mean you are able to eat only the recommended amount or..what? Very confused as to whether or not call for another fill...please help

Congrats Michelle!!I haven't been around the forum much either. Been busy, nothing quite as exciting as your news! What a blessing I will keep you in my prayers.
Here is a quick update from me:
Finally made it to "one"derland and I am staying there. Been back and forth with the scale for 2 weeks now at 200, then I would drop to 199 then go back to 201. Partially due to hormones because of my cycle and making poor food choices. But thankfully, I have made it and not too far from my goal either, which was to be in "one"derland by October 9th. Yeahhh! for me
Congratulations!

I am happy to say it does go away. I had a doctors appointment a few days after posting, and he assured me it was just the muscles healing and could take a few weeks to do so. The very next week it was gone. Hang in there, it should just be temporary.....remember to call your doctor if it gets to painful

My doctor had me on 3 weeks of liquids..finally finished with that! Now I am on my first week of pureed/soft food for 3 weeks. 2 more weeks and then "real" food!

No problem...wish I just had 50 to lose lol

Are you only trying to loose 50 pounds?no, that is just my first goal

I have a really big problem with the Bariatric Advantage vitamins...they totally gross me out and I dread having to take them...i swear i even had a bad dream about taking them last night...im trying not to be dramatic and I suck it up and take them but I cant help it...LOL....Any suggestions?I use Centrum chewables, they are orange flavor. I usually don't care for anything that is orange flavored but these are not bad at all.

Wow guess I am the only one with the problem..talking about feeling alone lol
Good news though, pain has diminished to almost nothing now guess it was from the muscles? At least it is going away whew

Some friends of ours just stopped by to visit. I should never have told them I had Lap Band. Her mom had it done and she throws up and gags all the time and can only eat soft foods like mashed potatoes. She's 3 YEARS post op but she always, always gets her band over filled that way she can't eat.Now they just keep telling me how I'm going to be sick all the time and yadda, yadda. I keep trying to explain to them that she's probably sick all the time b/c she's overfilled. She also drinks cokes, uses a straw and fills up on melted ice cream b/c that's the only thing that will go down.
They are so discouraging:( They said I should have gotten Gastric Bypass instead- Uh no that's too invasive.
I have heard the remarks as well...one told me that they haven't seen anyone lose weight with the band (then I will be the exception) and I should have had the bypass, I am with to invasive. Also heard well you can eat anything you want...man people need to read up on things before opening their mouths sometimes.
Hang in there...we WILL do this and do it the right way!
From now on when I hear the naysayers, I am just gonna tell them oh yeah...watch this!

I am 13 days post op. I was feeling fine other than the occasional tugging sensation where my port is on Thursday. Since then I have been having a burning sensation around the port area and a little pain and burning where I think the band may be. Seems to be worse when I sit up or get up from sitting or lying position.
Anyone else experienced this?

Good luck to everyone this month!I am now 2 days post op and I'm feeling awesome! well besides the soreness around my port its nothing the pain medicine wont help me.
I cant wait for this week of liquids to be over so I can move onto my mushy stage! All I want is mashed potatoes.
again good luck August Rushers!
I have been having a lot of gas (burping) are you as well? The gas pains seems to hurt around the stomach more when I do burp too, anyone else?

Banded yesterday, and was pretty sore when I got home yesterday afternoon. Didn't sleep much last night just restless. Not much pain today, have only take pain medication once.
Still a little tired but all in all feel like a million bucks!
Good luck to the rest of you having your surgery this week!

Tomorrow is surgery day for me too. I'm very excited and nervous. Told the people in my Sunday school class, and I was happily surprised by all of the support. Hubby was told that he has to keep his Facebook updated tomorrow with surgery progress. That other wise they would hunt him down. Had a few wives tell me that I was an inspiration, and that I have made them want to lose weight too. That made me feel fantastic. I've lost 15 pounds (haven't weighed today) since I started the pre-op diet 2 weeks ago, but still worried that the doctor will get in there and my liver hasn't shrunk enough.Good luck on your surgery tomorrow! Be sure to post when you are feeling up to it, and I will do the same..nice to have a same day buddy!

Yesterday was my 1 year anniversary...can't believe it has been a year already! I was hoping to be in onderland by now, but I will take what I can get since I did have a few set backs. I am down 52 pounds which I am very happy about, I will just stay on track, set more realistic goals and keeping on moving forward, no looking back now!
Happy anniversary to all of you!
