coffee or no coffee?
shaundra replied to angelamarie79's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was told no coffee except for decaf but I just can't go without it in the morning at 5 am. I drink it every morning and i'm fine. I do make decaf if i'm craving it later in the day but I think you should be fine. Just my 2 cents, you should ask your doctor to be sure. -

Anyone had surgery and was alone afterwards.
shaundra replied to MsBriteEyez's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on 1/15/13. I stayed in the hospital 4 days alone. It wasn't that bad, a little boring though. I did have my mom and daughter to come home to but honestly I think you have an advantage being alone. The hardest part for me was the first few days at home. The other people in my house had to eat, and seeing their food and smelling it had my crying like a baby for days! I'm doing fine now, their food doesn't bother me anymore, but its still hard mentally. Don't worry you can do this alone. You will be feeling a little better each day, and before you know it being alone in this won't be an issue. Besides you have all of us here at VST -

You are not alone. This is a journey, a tough one, but you can do it. -

I don't know the name of it. Have you read this one? Would you recommend it?

I'm looking to buy some books to help me through the postop diet ruts. I read on here about a book or cook book for the post op diet. It is exactly what i'm looking for, it has recipes and ideas of what you can eat, even went through the different phases of the post op diet but I can't remember what its called. If anyone knows what it is or knows of any other books that would help, I would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

im not really sure, i guess its probably different for everyone but i think you should at least give your doctor a call and see what he thinks.

have you had your gallbladder checked? or removed? i am dealing with gallstones that hurt like you wouldnt believe. maybe you can ask your doctor to recommend a fiber supplement or stool softner if he doesnt think your gallbladder is the problem.

Well basically it is having the sleeve done all over again. I have been talking with a doctor in mexico about having it done and he suggested i might want to consider gastric bypass. I have never even thought about having the bypass done, not even at my heaviest weight. I have a low bmi since i lost a lot of weight with the lapband so im scared to do it but im slowly gaining back the weight. Have any of you known anyone with a low bmi get the gastric bypass????
