Okay, but if you can't get solids down, you should get Fluid removed. Why torture yourself? I've been there a few times and I know how much fun it is....NOT! Generally your weight loss slows down when you're too tight too so....up to you but there's no need to just suffer!

Why would you be a mess? You're going to be fabulous! And as mentioned, if you do get your period, your lovely pain meds will certainly help you with those cramps! Good luck!

1shauna1 reacted to Jean McMillan in 2 Questions...cherry Tomatoes & Pilates
I think trying to peel a cherry or grape Tomato would be a good punishment for someone who had wronged me. I suggest that you try eating one, unpeeled. If it doesn't give you any problems, eat another one. Also, at times I've had to cut cherry or grape tomatoes in half in order to eat them. so you could try that.
I started out doing weight training and cardio. About a year ago I added PIlates to the mix and I think it's given me better muscle definition. Since some Pilates moves (and Stott Pilates machines) use the weight and resistance of your own body, I imagine it can build muscle the same as weight training, but I don't know which is better at it. Maybe a personal trainer or other fitness professional could tell you that.

Didn't say or think I did. You've undoubtedly told your story many times. I do sympathize with what you've gone through, my band journey hasn't been the easiest either. But negativity doesn't really help anyone. You should focus on the positive stuff you've got going on now and leave the negativity in the past; we will thank you for it.

I would say if you need to eat something, have a little lean Protein. It will stay with you longer than the cracker.

Then why are you still posting here? This is supposed to be a supportive forum, if you have gotten rid of your band and just want to cause problems you should go to your sleeve forum.

To the OP - please, girl, don't stress about that! We need to live in a way we can sustain for the rest of our lives. If that means having some wine now and then, so be it! You just need to account for the calories and drink some extra Water that day. Life is for living!!

It is not feasible to never have a piece of chocolate or a glass of wine again. None of us got to where we are from a glass of wine or a piece of chocolate. We all still have lives to live, we just need to make smarter choices along the way. Saying we CAN'T have something is how a lot of us got here in the first place! Enjoy your wine and husband and live life to the fullest.
P.s. My surgeon NEVER mentioned being unable to consume alcohol, only to not over consume and to wait until I am fully healed.
Let's all support eachother here because not one of us is perfect and we should not expect others to be either.

Yes, you can (so I've been told). However, as with any weight loss plan you have to eat the right foods. Protein first, then veg, then some carbs is the "right way". But I find, as with life, sometimes things don't work out that way. Going out to eat, for example. And I have found certain things for me just don't work, like deep fried foods (bye bye calamari!) and doughy breads. The band is just a tool and we have to work it properly!

To the OP, don't get discouraged. Dating is hard, especially when you're in your 30s and up. I know you said you don't get much response to your online dating and you don't post pics of yourself online....this is probably why. It's sad, I know but online dating, men want to see a picture. And the online dating sites always say the most responses have a few pictures. Try one of the secure sites (that you have to pay for like Match or EHarmony) because people on there are generally more serious about finding a relationship because it costs more to be on that site. They want to meet people.

If you're having pain from those foods, you just may need to chew them more or take even smaller bites of them. However as mentioned, some foods may just be too difficult for you now. You'll have to try things and see.

I have those feelings too....I think about food just as much as I did before. I think people are lucky if somehow their food thoughts go away after the surgery, but that didn't happen for me. And I'm sad because this hasn't been as easy as I had thought or hoped; I'm not down nearly as much as I had planned. Just be happy you're losing weight, and try to find other positive things to focus on like how long you'll be around for your children now. Feel better!

1shauna1 got a reaction from Sojourner in Need Help Asap! Please!!!
Sounds awful. I know many lapband docs will remove all Fluid when you're pregnant, probably to prevent this exact thing. Make an appointment with him to have your fluid removed (baby is more important now). As to loosening the band, drink warm liquids and try not to stress. For me, stress makes me tight so I'm sure it's not helping you.

For sure it's possible! However, results may be different in that you may have more loose skin. Of course, I believe that depends on your age too, and how long you've been overweight as your skin loses elasticity over time. I haven't been exercising but I know in combination with eating right it would make losses faster. I just feel like I have no time in my life to spend it doing something I don't really enjoy! I'd rather just take the dog for a walk (but she's a dawdler so I can't really count it as exercise, lol).

I am sure glad to see this post...I thought I was the only one with this issue! I've had problems with night eating for the past few months, not because I'm particularly hungry, but because there's no stop signal. Learning to recognize head hunger vs real hunger is still something I struggle with, but I'm getting better at telling the difference. I'm glad I'm not alone!

As mentioned, we can no longer eat away our worries and stresses. Now we have to face the feelings head on and it can be hard. Does your program have any psychologists you can talk to? That might be helpful. Also, we are here . Try to relax and just focus on your healing at this time!

I hope this doesn't sound mean, but now you know what happens when you eat the old way! And believe me, I also learned the hard way. Take it easy on liquids for a few days. And the diarrhea, etc. is probably because you haven't eaten these types of foods for a long time, so try not to worry. Keep yourself hydrated and get back on your eating plan!

1shauna1 reacted to Sojourner in Over-Eating With Good Restriction?
I believe that it is all about both Portion Control and time management; measure your portions, and allow 20 minutes to eat a meal. Structure your time so that you are having your meals and "snacks" (my surgeon wants us to have either milk or FF yogurt for snacks) at regular intervals.

Eating between meals, or "grazing" habits are what packed pounds on for many of us. It's just another bad habit that is better broken than continued.
