    August Rush in bandland!

I finally made it to 1derland yesterday. Stepped on the scale 3 times in 3 different places to make sure that I really did get there. I haven't seen my weight start with a 1 in over 15 years, and that was for just a few weeks before I got pregnant with my first child. Now, I'm going to start saving money to get all of the access skin removed. My doctor told me I have about 20 pounds if not more of extra skin. It is causing sores, so I'm hoping that insurance might cover it.

    Do Not Get Discouraged

if your weight loss is slow. I was banded over 2 years ago, and I only loose around 3 - 5 pounds per month on average. It has been a painfully slow process, and at times I get discouraged because it hasn't happened faster. It dawned on me a few months ago that from where I started until today, my life has dramatically changed. I can now ride rollercoasters without fear that I won't fit in a seat. I sometimes even have a hard time finding myself in pictures of the new me. If the weight loss is slow, just keep at it. The weight will eventually come off if you follow the plan and exercise. I like to say that over 2 years I have not gained any weight. My scale keeps moving in the right direction. That is the best I can do.

I just wanted to see my weight loss thing. I am 9 pounds away from being at 199. It is getting so close I can feel it.

    Please Help!!!! Frustrated And Angry!

I'm working on 2 years with my band. I too would get frustrated with my weight loss. I wasn't losing fast enough. I should have been at goal weight in less than a year, and then it dawned on me. I'm right where I need to be. I have gone through 2 major surgeries in those 2 years that would have caused me to gain weight before. I still managed to lose weight. I still have weight to lose, but I know now that I'm going to eventually be at my goal weight. This is weight that will not come back. I didn't reach the green zone until around fill 5 or 6, and I even now, there are times that I have to have Fluid taken out because I get too tight. Then have to have fluid added because I get to loose. I'm sitting in the green zone right now. Who knows how long that will last, but I'm certainly enjoying it while I sit here.

    Green Zone Finally??

I know that I don't have any appetite at all, but I think mine is from my preventive migraine medicine. Having said that, my band seems to loosen up around 3 or 4 PM. I can only eat around 3 oz of food at any given time, but I'm able to drink at any time I wish. I feel that I have found the green zone. I have to remind myself to eat because otherwise I wouldn't eat all day long.

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

I have lost 122 pounds as of today. I have 58 more to lose, but I know now it is possible, and I will get there.

    August Rush in bandland!

I can't believe we are closing in on the 2 year mark. What a difference 2 years can make. I've lost a whole person, and I can now see my finish line that I sat. I'm over 2/3 the way to my goal, and I'm 18.6 pounds away to my 2nd major goal. I expect to be there by the end of September. I will say that I feel that I am going to be able to maintain the weight loss. How is everybody else doing?
  9. 1. How long have you been banded? nearly 2 years 2. How much weight did want to lose? 180 lbs total 3. How much weight have you lost? 120 lbs 4. How happy are you that you have been banded: scale of 1-10 (1 being regretful, 10 being elated) 10 - I always expected to be at goal in 18 months, but I'm very happy with the slow and steady progress I have made. It has helped me to realize that I will be able to maintain because I didn't have a great big huge weight loss all at once.

    August Rush in bandland!

My band has become so finicky it isn't even funny. I had to go in Saturday for an emergency deflate. Seems my flight 2 weeks prior caused my band to tighten up. Liquids were only trickling through, and you can forget about food getting through. It wasn't happening. He took out .6 and told me that I was to come back in 2 weeks to get it put back in. I haven't been able to eat for the last 2 days. I guess I am swollen. I was able to actually eat a bit this morning which has been an improvement.

    August Rush in bandland!

I ended up in the ER yesterday. Ahh, you have to love how your band goes from zero to sixty in 2.2 seconds. I knew my band was tight, and I knew it needed to have some fluid come out. I was still able to drink, and I was down to eating one meal a day. I just really didn't have the money to go and pay for it to be done. Other things came up. Fast forward to Saturday evening, and I started throwing up because of the acid. This lasted for 2 hours. I finally fell asleep about 2. I woke up yesterday around noon, and my limbs felt like dead weight. I could barely move them, and I was extremely dizzy and queasy. My chest hurt right in the middle, and I tingled all over. My husband took me to the nearest ER where thankfully it was just severe dehydration. I couldn't even keep water down. Everything was getting stuck in the band. They sent me home (thankfully didn't touch my band. I was worried they would take all of the fluid out of it.) I go to see my surgeon today at 115. I've been able to sip down very slowly 2 full glasses of water today which I wasn't able to do yesterday at all. Now, I just hope that everything looks okay under the fluro when he goes to look at my band.
  12. I have been having problems eating or even drinking anything at all until after 3 in the afternoon.

    August Rush in bandland!

All of a sudden the weight is melting off again. For the first time EVER, I weigh less than my husband does. I am close to my pre-pregnancy weight of my first child which is the smallest I've been since I was 13.

I do at times, but mine is due to reflux. I'm having terrible reflux right now to the point it is making me throw up. I have to call my surgeon.
